VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Tanzania Agriculture Productivity Program (TAPP) is a five year project funded by USAID. Our mandate is to
improve the incomes and food security levels of small-scale farmers. USAID-TAPP invites candidates suitably
qualified to fill the position listed below.
Scope of Work Photographer, USAID-TAPP
USAID-Tanzania Agriculture Productivity Program (TAPP) works to increase smallholder incomes, improve
nutrition, and expand market accessibility through agricultural innovation. USAID-TAPP seeks the services of a
professional photographer to increase its library of quality photographs. Powerful images complement success
stories of client farmers and can significantly increase visibility of the project with key stakeholders. A professional
photographer will be directed to take top-quality photographs that capture USAID-TAPP field activities as well as
the broad nature of agricultural development work for communication products.
Locations for shoots: Arusha, Morogoro, Mbeya, Njombe, Iringa
Date needed: June-July
Scope of Work:

Take professional quality, high resolution photographs that capture USAID-TAPPs work in Tanzania
based on an agreed upon shot list (USAID-TAPP will provide a list of thematic topics, contact people,
locations, and types of photographs to cover for the stated period).

Photographs produced with a digital camera will be no less than 1600x1200 pixels and all final images
should be given in two sizes: high resolution (original) and compressed file.

Service includes post-shoot editing, processing, and retouching of selected images.

All digital photos should meet archival standard and be delivered in JPEG file format on CD/USB drives
or on a web sharing portal such as Dropbox.

A minimum of 150 high resolution photographs, based on agreed upon shot list; only the best pictures
taken during assignment will be shared.

Supply complete caption information in word document that references the file name of each image,
with appropriate background information. All subjects should be identified by what they are doing, if not
self-evident. Names of places are essential, including whether the location is a village, town, or district.
Indicate individuals name, as well as names of groups or partners.

All copyright/ownership belongs to USAID-TAPP. We therefore have the exclusive right to make copies,
distribute copies, and display the work publicly. All images produced remain the property of USAIDTAPP and will not have a credit line acknowledging the photographer.

Verbal consent should be obtained for all images. The photographer assumes all responsibility for claims
that result from false information.

Schedule and travel costs will be discussed once applicant is identified. Photographers are expected to have their
own equipment.
