Construction activities
WSDOT and city of Seattle crews will work around the
clock to replace old water and electrical utility lines.
Crews will close East Lake Washington Boulevard (LWB)
to work in three main areas:
1. LWB and Montlake Boulevard East intersection:
Crews will dig a trench and install electrical conduit for
the traffic signals. Once the conduit is in place, crews
will backfill and repave the roadway.
2. LWB and 24th Avenue East intersection: Crews will
excavate the roadway, install electrical conduit across
the intersection and repave the roadway. Crews will
also continue to install drainage pipes that connect to
the existing system.
3. East of 24th Avenue East: Crews will dig and install
two maintenance holes that will connect the new sewer
line installed under mainline SR 520 to the existing
system under LWB.
All work will comply with city of Seattle temporary noise
variance requirements and our construction best
management practices. If you have construction questions
that require an immediate response over the weekend,
please call the 24-hour construction hotline at 206-708-4657.
