Welcome
Welcome to the School Enterprise Challenge 2015 and to our global community of enterprising schools!

In this guide we will introduce you to the competition, explain how it works for schools on the business
development track and the benefits of participating!

You can see some of their new products in the picture. With the profits of their business DLF Craft Hut have been
able to support students in four local government schools with their education. DLF Public school also mentored
these four schools and encouraged them to set up their own school based enterprises!
If you have access to YouTube, you might also like to watch a video of Escuela Concertada Solaris
school talking about their jam business: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pF2bMF_t3g
IMPORTANT: You may have decided to start a completely new business this year. This may be because you
discovered your product was not profitable, the market may have changed, or your students have an even better
business idea! If you are starting a new business and not growing or diversifying an existing one, you should change
to the New Business track. Please email info@schoolenterprisechallenge.org if you would like to change tracks.
In Stage 1, Students have 4 weeks to develop and submit a business development idea for a school
enterprise.
In Stage 2, Students have 6 weeks to develop and submit a business development plan for a school
enterprise.
In Stage 3, Students implement their business development plan, get hands on business experience, and
generate income to support either their school or a charitable cause of their choice! This stage lasts up to 4
months. Students then submit a Final Report to us.
We will provide you with an easy to complete template at every stage of the competition! There will also be
exciting opportunities to apply for business mentors and to take part in mini-competitions along the way!
