Mains controller

Installation and operating guide

MAINS CONTROLLER Installation and operating guide

Introduction

Safety

astral TM mains controllers are available in 1 and 2 gang

versions and are suitable for flush or surface mounting in
BS wall boxes with a minimum internal depth of 35mm and
should be mounted in dry indoor locations only.

Group control and dimming

A mains controller can provide on/off control over switches

and in addition on/off and dimming control over dimmers to
operate together as a group. Alternatively it can be used to
control a scene where the user configured light levels are
recalled to set a required lighting mood.

The light levels of all dimmers in a

group will align to the same level
after any dimming operation ends.

Up to 64 different switches and dimmers maybe controlled by

each mains controller. A 2 gang mains controller can control 2
groups or scenes.
The mains controller also allows activation of the astral
system HOLIDAY MODE feature and a system ALL-OFF function
via its default functionality.
The mains controller also incorporates command status
indicators giving visual indication and confirmation that
any commands to other switches and dimmers have been
successfully received. There is also a night locator feature to
help find the controller in the dark.

MAINS CONTROLLER Installation and operating guide

When turning on a group, dimmers

will turn on at the light level they
were set to before they were
turned off.

Scene control and dimming

When turning on dimmers in a

scene they will always go to their
programmed light level for the
scene.
Dimming of all dimmers in a scene
will maintain any difference in light
level after dimming stops. The light
levels will not align.

Always follow the manufacturers advice when using power

tools, steps, ladders etc. and wear appropriate protective
equipment such as safety goggles when drilling holes. Before
drilling holes in walls, check for hidden electricity cables and
water pipes, and use a cable/pipe locater if in doubt.
Danger 230 volts

Always disconnect the electricity supply before commencing

any work on the installation of devices.
This device should be installed by a competent person
or a qualified electrician in accordance with the devices
installation instructions and the appropriate current national
wiring regulations.
It is essential that all connections are made as instructed, that
cables are not stressed and that terminals are fully tightened.
The mains supply to this device must be protected by a 10A
type B or type C MCB.
