Engineering
Valves & Actuators CII Valves and Actuators division is the only National body
working exclusively for this sector. The Indian valves and actuators industry is
capable of producing high end engineered products catering to process
industries such as Oil and Gas, Water & Waste Water, Power Generation in
Thermal, Hydro Electric, Nuclear, Metal refining and process sectors. The
division is in the forefront for promoting adoption of newer technology and
better end-user linkages to ensure a faster growth and improved
competitiveness of the sector. It regularly engages with policy makers to
create a favorable ecosystem for the industry. The Division comprises of all
leading valves manufacturers both from domestic and global majors along
with key stakeholders associated with the sector. Growth Rate & Expected
size in future Indian valve industry is expected to grow @ 7% CAGR over the
coming years to reach USD 2.2 billion by 2020 from the current size of USD
1.5 Billion. Present Indian export is to the tune of USD 650 Million annually.
This is expected to grow @ 15% to reach USD 1.2 Billion by 2020. CII
Recommendations for the Sector Include valves under Focus Product
Scheme (FPS) for strengthening export competitiveness. As Indian valves
manufacturing has significant value addition with limited import content, this
would improve foreign exchange inflows. Revise the Indian standards in line
with international specifications. This would ensure a better market for Indian
valves leading to increased market share globally.
