Power 911 Installation 8 Steps to Success!

STEP 1 Teaming NIC Cards


1. From the PC at the M100 image
( NO network cables should be plugged into the computer )
( The Sonic Box is NOT plugged in )
(Windows 7 Mop completed already)
2. Team NIC Cards
3. Uncheck IPV6 from the Team
4. Restart the computer

STEP 2 Joining the Domain


1. Connect network cables
2. At the pop up to set network location, choose WORK NETWORK
3. Verify the proper IP address was given to the workstation by Viper
( IPCONFIG /ALL )
4. Join the Domain ( P911. Positron-psap.com )
Login: Administrator
Password: Phantom1
5. Restart the computer

STEP 3 Verification of windows settings ( Windows 7 Mop some items revert


back upon joining the domain and need to be change )
1. Click Switch user at the login screen
Login: P911\Administrator
Password: Phantom1
2. At the lower right part of the screen adjust date/time
>Change Date and Time
>Change Calendar Settings
>Time Tab > Long Time: HH:MM:SS
3. Control Panel
>View by: Small Icons
>Action Center
>Change Action Center Settings ( This may take a minute or so for all the Red
Security categories to be shown )
4. Uncheck EVERYTHING that is checked and click OK
5. Maintenance drop down
>Settings
>Check Never check for solutions
6. Control Panel
>Power options
>in My Custom Plan1 > Change Plan Settings
>Change advanced power settings
>Hard disk > Turn off hard disk after setting: > NEVER
>USB Selective suspend setting: > Disabled
7. Verify Team NIC IPV6 is UNCHECKED
8. For Class Purposes do the following also:
- Launch Internet explorer
>next
>No, dont turn on
>Choose custom Settings
>keep my current default search provider
>No, I dont want to download updates
>Turn off all accelerators
>No, I dont want to use updates
>Finish
- Launch Adobe Reader
>Edit > Preferences
>General > Uncheck check for updates
>Acrobat.com > Uncheck email options

>Internet > Uncheck Display PDF in browser


>Security > Digital Signatures> Uncheck verify signatures when the document is
opened
>Trust Manager> Uncheck automatic updates>
(uncheck ask before installing, then uncheck load trusted root certificate)
-Launch VM Ware Player
>Yes to accept
>File > Player Preferences
>Uncheck all software updates and components
>Uncheck help improve VM ware player
9. Restart the computer

Step3- Verification of Windows Settings.zip

Step 4 Installation of NTP

Run PPSSautorun.exe
Choose custom components
Install Network Time Protocol
Restart the computer

Step 5 Installation of Power 911


( Sonic box is NOT connected )
1. Run PPSSautorun.exe
2. Install Power 911 with the latest service pack
***NOTE- During the installation of the sonic drivers always click Install
anyways . When the sonic drivers are almost done installing you will see a pop
up message Positron Sonic Driver Setup and will have an OK button, DO
NOT CLICK OK ( Clicking ok may result in, not all the drivers and files to be
loaded, commonly the PCTIAudio folder and/or its contents are not loaded.) DO
NOT CLICK OK AND LET THE REGULAR SYSTEM POP UP TO COME UP
ASKING FOR YOU TO RESTART NOW OR LATER.
3. Restart the computer

Step 6 Verify settings after Power 911 installation


1. Plug in the Sonic box, you should get a message that the device is ready to use
2. Check ODBC connections
3. Sounds
> Play back tab
> Speaker wave 2
> first set has Default communications device
>Then set as Default device
(This will leave all else showing as Ready )
4. Sounds
>Recording tab
<Headset 1 wave 3
<Set as default device
(This will leave all else showing as Ready)
5. Open a command window CMD and type in the following:
netsh int ip reset ( and then hit enter )
netsh winsock reset ( and then hit enter )
6. SHUT DOWN THE COMPUTER

Step6- Verify Settings after Power 911 Installation.zip

Step 7 Power 911 KB installation


(The Sonic box must be plugged in for KB installation)
1. Install KB using the executable file
2. Wait for information screen ( Knowledge base has been successfully installed )
( During the installation it uninstalls Sonic drivers and re-installs them )
3. Restart the computer

Step 8 Verification of Sound Properties


1. Sounds
> Play back tab
> Speaker wave 2
> Set as Default device
(This will leave all else showing as Ready )

>Recording tab
<Headset 1 wave 3
<Set as default device
(This will leave all else showing as Ready)
3. SHUT DOWN THE COMPUTER
( You will hear the click of the speakers from sonic shutting off and when you turn
the computer back on )
