AMAZON NATIVES

HUMANITIES ASSESMENT

AMAZONIAN
NATIVES
The Amazon Natives, it is believed that they came
from Asia over 10,000 years ago through the Bering straits. The current population of the Amazon
natives is one million but this is only an estimation
because there are many native tribes who have
not been found. There are over 500 tribes currently in the Amazon right now, sadly they are depleting because of loggers/miners killing them and
destroying their homes and habitat.

HOW DO THE
AMAZON
NATIVES USE THE
RAINFOREST?

he Amazonian people use the Amazon for living.

The Amazon is their home and place of origin. They
use the Amazon rainforest and river for food, shelter and all the basic needs for a human. Though
many of them today are more civilised, e.g. going
to the markets to sell fruit and using guns and rifles
to hunt, many of them still live isolation from the outside world and rely only on the rainforest for basic
needs and survival.
Sadly many Amazonians are killed by loggers and
miners because of their land. Unlike other countries, the tribal people are not legally given land to
live on. When loggers/miners buy land that have
Amazonian people in it, the Amazonian people
wont leave and they are killed for their land.

WHAT EFFECT DO
THE AMAZON
NATIVES HAVE
ON THE
RAINFOREST?

After many years of living in the Amazon rainforest, the Amazonian have adapted to the rainforest environment. This can be seen by the way
they hunt, they only hunt a specific animal for a
short amount of time. This is because they dont
want to kill all that type of animal in the rainforest,
this is applied to whatever they do; for example
fruit and fish and many other resources that take
time to grow/populate.The Amazon people do
not have a big effect on the environment but they
do kill/remove plants from the Amazon effecting
its growth rate and population. While some tribes
are responsible for forms of deforestation, other
tribes are know to actively preserve the rainforest.

WHAT ARE THE

RIGHTS AND
RESPONSIBILITIES
OF THE
AMAZONIANS
NATIVES?

Responsibilities
Not to attack the loggers/miners
To not overuse the rainforests materials
to no attack outsiders and tourist
to not over hunt certain animals
to no kill sacred animals
to not hunt endangered species
to not disrespect their religion
Rights
To have a home
to live in peace
to be respected
to be able to live freely
to not be enslaved and to not be deceived and scammed
to not be abused

WHAT ARE THE

CONSEQUENCES OF
THE AMAZONIANS IF
THEY DISRESPECT THEIR
RESPONSINBLITIES?

the Amazonians disrespect their responsibilities this could have a major impact on the
Amazon Natives lives. A major part of their responsibility is to not only survive but also
ensure they respect the environment. If they take and dont give back, their resources
could be lost, become extinct. For example, they have a responsibility to ensure species dont become extinct so they must stop hunting certain species at various times
to ensure they can replenish. Their responsibility is also to both preserve and conserve
the land. If they stopped worrying about the land and didnt try and protect it they
would cause a lot of damage and may lose their own habitat and the habitat of many
fauna an If d flora.
As a community which requires a lot of hunting and gathering, each member must
play a role to ensure they meet their responsibilities to ensure their community functions effectively eg if their role is a hunter they must fulfill this to ensure the tribe is fed,
if their role is to cook they must make sure that they also meet these responsibilities to
have a productive community which functions well and ensure optimal health and longevity and a strong sense of community. In my research I learned that some tribes
keep their role for their entire lives eg you are a hunter till death.
Many Amazonians die because they dont respect there responsibilities, this can be
from attacking miners/loggers/tourists or from doing too much hunting and running out
of food. The loggers and miners are one of the main reason that todays Amazon population is decreasing. Many Amazonians see the miners/loggers as threats ( which they
are ) this is why they attack them, but they dont know that the loggers/miners have firearms and they end up killing them. The Amazonians need to be responsible to ensure
there is not conflict.
