Narration 1:
Narrator 1: In Luke 2, we read of the multitude of the heavenly host who cried
Glory to God in the Highest, and on earth, peace, goodwill toward man.
These same words are echoed in the well-loved hymn Angels We Have Heard on High
where the angels' praise is translated into Latin: Gloria in excelsis Deo.
Narrator 2: These angelic choirs might have even been the same morning stars that
shouted for joy when beholding the creation of the earth. The scriptures tell us that Jesus Christ
formed the earth under the direction of His Heavenly Father. On the first Christmas night, the angels
celebrated again Christ's return to the earth, to save those very souls for whom he had created it.
Narrator 3: Christ did not come to die for the people of some strange, unfamiliar place.
This earth was the workmanship of His own hands, and those who lived on it, His spirit
brothers and sisters. It is no wonder that the angels sang for joy, knowing that they too
had a part in Christ's salvation.
