Rationale
In keeping up with the Ateneo de Naga University mission to for men and
women for others and in the spirit of magis, the College of Engineering is
firm I the inclusion of Service Learning Program (SLP) in each of its program,
the Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering (BS ECE).
The program will be offered to Fifth Year (5 th yr) students taking up Seminars
and Field Trips (ECEM522) of BS ECE. The students enrolled have gained
mastery of the technology they intend to transfer/impart to High School
students. Through his, the students will be involved in communities as they
learn the values of service, patience and leadership.
The activity will be in partnership with the co-corricular organization of the
said course, the Electronics and Communication Engineering Society (ECES).

Objectives:
To provide the selected high school students with the basic skills in

electronics testing
To share the essential knowledge in the field of electronics

To develop involvement/commitment to community among the

engineering students
To immerse the 5th year engineering students to people with diverse

backgrounds
To provide a joyous activity to the selected high school students where

they will learn and be more inclined to the field of engineering

Nature of the Activity

The recipient of the Service Learning Program (SLP) is a class from the
Secondary School recommended by the Office of Center for Community
Development (CCD).

The SLP should be a total of two (2) days and the schedule will be agreed
upon by the teacher of the course, the engineering students and the head of
the recipient school.
This activity comprises 20% of the Computed Final Raw Score (CFRS) in the
subject Seminars and Field Trips with the course code of ECEM522. Nonattendance will mean an INC grade in the end of the semester.
