HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 8:00, 9:00 & 11:00A.M.

MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER
Chronological Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 34-36; John 16
Monday, June 8
Prov. 30:26 The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks;
Lord Seeking the Lost:
I watch people standing outside in the summer like wild animals in the field:
insecure, self-conscious of their vulnerability and natural defenselessness. So they
choose to burrow for security. Help my heart to chase after them! Those ones.
They are weak and exposed to danger. As I speak, to them make them wise
to seek shelter in the Savior. The best security is in the fortress of an
unchangeable God and his unconditional sacrifice for sin, where unalterable
promises stand like impregnable walls of rock. It will be well with my soul, but
only if I hide myself in the castle of Christs character, a guarantee of safety for all
who put their trust in him. I thank you Lord, that I have done so.
Many times I find myself like David in the cave Adullamsequestered with
you and safe from the cruelty of my haters. Long ago when Satan and my sins
pursued me, I fled to make my house in the cleft of the rock. In Christs split
side and spilt blood I found a resting place.
Lord, I pray __________ and __________ would run to you this week!
Whatever their present hurt or wound may be, Jesus feels for it; Jesus will console
it; Jesus will help. He truly heals the brokenhearted. In Christ the weak are made
strong, and the insecure given safety.
Faith gives me, here on earth, the protection of God who is in heaven. I
cannot need more and should not want less. Rabbits cannot build a castle; they
can only take advantage of that which is already provided by God. Help the lost I
witness to this week see they cannot build themselves a refuge, yet Jesus has
already provided it for them. The Father has given it. The Spirit has revealed it.
Help them Lord, to enter it for Jesus sake and to his glory. Amen.
A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING
Chronological Bible Reading: Ezra 7-10; John 19:1-21
Thursday, June 11
Judges 6:6 And Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites; and the
children of Israel cried unto the Lord.

IM sorry, forgive me
Clean me up, Jesus
I didnt mean to hurt you, or desert you
Cause I love you so much
I admit it, that I did it
I didnt mean to let you down
Please Jesus turn my life around
And give me another chance
Every time I try to do the right thing
I always end up doing the wrong thing
The only thing I seem to do is keep on messin up
I get so confused, Lord I dont know what to do
But you told me if I would seek your face
Turn from my wicked ways
You would heal me, forgive me,
And give me another chance

TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS LIFE

Chronological Bible Reading: Ezra 1-3; John 17
Tuesday, June 9
John 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should
not abide in darkness.
Everlasting and Eternal Father of Lights:
Sometimes it seems like my world is as dark as midnight, but Lord you
came so I could see by the light of faith. I thank you Father, I no longer have to
sit in the gloom covering the rest of mankind!
Whosoever is a really wide word. It means me and everyone in our ministry,
and everyone I work with, and everyone in our community. If I trust in you I will
no longer sit in darkness. Why should I stay in darkness? I have a free pass by
grace into an eternal day. Lord, help __________ and __________ renounce the
works of darkness and come out into your marvelous light today!
I may right now be under the shadow of a cloud, but I dont have to stay in
that darkness. Jesus came to dispel it, and he did not come in vain. If only I have
faith I have the privilege of sunlight. Help me enjoy it today and lead others out
of darknessout of the darkness of their depravity, of their willful ignorance, of
their gripping doubt, of their fearful despair, of their destructive sin, of their
irrational dread. Jesus has come to set us all free! He no more comes in vain than
the sun rises and fails to scatter the night.
2 Pet. 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye
take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star
arise in your hearts:
Help me shake off my depression (its the stormy season) and abide not in
the dark. I want to move higher into light. In Christ is my hope, my joy and
my heaven. Help me look only to him today and this summer, and rejoice. These
things I ask because Jesus died to save, and he gives me light. Amen.
FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY
Chronological Bible Reading: Nehemiah 1-3; John 19:22-42
Friday, June 12

WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING
Chronological Bible Reading: Ezra 4-6; John 18
Wednesday, June 10
Hosea 14:3 Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we
say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth
mercy.
Holy God and Heavenly Father:
Help me cast off all self-confidence and trust only in you. When a child is
left without its natural protector, you step in and become its guardian. So also
when I lose every foothold and every handhold, I can throw myself back on you
and find everything I need. The fatherless are cast on the fatherhood of God as
their father, and you provide for them. Help me hang onto the bare arm of God.
No faith is so well supported by facts as faith in Jesus. No trust is so certain to be
rewarded with results as trust in the invisible but ever-living God.
Some children do have fathers, but are no better off because of them. And
the fatherless are rich when they have God. So it is better Lord, that I have you
and no other friends, than it would be for me to have all the contacts on the
planet and no God. To be lonely and lacking relationships with human
friends is painful, but to be bereft of God is true loneliness. As long as Jesus
is my fountain of mercy I am not alone in this life, and I thank you.
Psa. 41:9-10 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my
bread, hath lifted up his heel against me. But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me
Lord, I want to find mercy in you and you alone. The more needy and
helpless I am, the more confidently I appeal to your loving heart. My need is the
basis for all my prayer. Give me a revival today in my relationship with you. Do
that especially after some other sweet earthly relationship ends, because
Song 5:16 His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved,
and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.
SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS
Chronological Bible Reading: Nehemiah 4-6; John 20
Saturday, June 13

Rev. 15:4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art
holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

Psa. 49:15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall
receive me. Selah

Blessed GodFather, Son and Spirit:

We worship you with all our heart and adore you. Lamb of God, we pay
you reverence, casting all we have at your feet. We do not have a crown (or even
much silver or gold), but such as you have graciously given us we make available
to you. We are content in the knowledge everything is ours, as long as it is
first yours. And it is all the more ours when we have completely yielded it to you.
Jesus, we wish we could live for you more completely, with no distractions
and no secondary directions into which the streams of our lives flow. You are
everything to us, so make everything about us consecrated to you alone.
We ask for pardon through your blood. We are already saved, but give us a
new sense of it, so we can make other people want it. Have pity on those who
have never yet been pardoned. Hear their cry as sinners when they seek your face!
Wherever there is the beginning of repentance, send us with the whole gospel.
Give them the complete picture of the cross, and of Christ suffering for them.
Let forgiveness be felt wherever sin is placed on Jesus.
Next we ask you to subdue our iniquities. Conquer the power of sin in all
your saints. Give us grace to live above it. Do not allow the lusts of the flesh, or
the pride of our mind to bring our spirit into subjection. Make our spirit rule
over our thoughts and discipline our body. Make Christ rule in our heart by
faith so we can know how to
Gal. 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and
be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Do it for Jesus sake and your glory alone. Amen.

Gracious and Mighty God:

Just like my risen Christ, I cannot be held by the grip of the grave. I thank
you redemption has given me new life now, and freed me from slavery to death.
Psa. 49:16 Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is
increased;
Even if the godless prosper, I need not raise any question about divine
justice. Drive-away the envy confusing my mind. Success for the wicked is
nothing for me to be tripping on, because it is nothing more than temporary.
Matt. 19:30 But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.
Many a sinner and his family are held in great esteem by our community, or
even our country, but all things will finally be made right by you.
Psa. 49:17 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend
after him.
We will all pass naked through the river of death. No fine suit of clothes,
no coin or treasure, and not one bit of earthly honor can we carry with us. Why
fret over fleeting prosperity? But though this theme is comforting to me
because I have found righteousness in Christit is a warning to the worldly.
Psa. 49:20 Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that
perish.
Lord, I want to be used of you to hold people back from this judgment!
Holy Spirit, give me opportunity to speak of your grace today, and draw to Jesus
all my friends who are headed down the path that leads to destruction. For this I
need your Holy Spirit controlling my mind and tongue for Jesus sake. Amen.

HOW TO BUILD A BALANCED LIFE

THIS WEEKS EVENTS & ACTIVITIES

PRAYER DIARY

TIMEWORSHIP
Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and
departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is
to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily
devotions.
2)

TITHEWORK
1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as
God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions

asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.
3)

TEAMWORD
Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS

Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God)

Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of
walking with us)
Basing beliefs and actions on the mind of Christ (your church relationship in
the Word)

PROMPT PETITIONS KICKSTART DEVOTION

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.
Alan

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
