FROM YOUR PASTOR

Mike Northcutt - ebc@eastmont.org

Will Rogers was right when he said The
government taxes people to build roads, and the
Baptist wear them out going to meetings. If there is
something our church has plenty of it is meetings.
But I sure am proud of you because of last weekend.
We had over 100 of our members not at Eastmont.
Some were in Georgia on a mission trip. Another 70
were at Urban Slide as volunteers. Later this month
our youth will go to North Carolina to serve. It is
good to go to church. It is better being the church.

I have always been touched by the Apostle
Pauls description of his friend Onesiphorus. You
are like a breath of fresh air. (2 Timothy 1:16) God
intended us to be a source of life, support and
encouragement for one another. When someone
told me they didnt need Sunday School, I quickly
said But they need you! Be a refreshing saint.

My first exposure to people who were filled
with the Spirit was oddly-dressed-men and hairin-a-bun women. (The worship service actually
scared me.) Then God filled my heart with His
presence. Wind can sail a ship, produce electricity,
or destroy a city. Wind is powerful. The Holy Spirit
is compared to breath and wind in the Bible. I
sensed that when I worshiped with you last Sunday.
Thank you choir. Thank you Courtney and Jayne.
Thank you congregation. Let everything that hath
breath praise the Lord. (Psalm 150:6)

Piti, piti, wazo fe nich li. That translates:
Little by little the bird builds the nest. You may feel
overwhelmed and facing too many obstacles. Trust
God one step at a time. If God takes care of the
birds, how much more will He care for you.

Ill See You Sunday,

CHILDRENS MINISTRY
Jeremy Lynch - jlynch@eastmont.org

On May 28-30, our 5th-6th grade students did an amazing

job serving in New Orleans, ministering with KidMin Charlie,
learning about ministry opportunities, and representing our
Eastmont Family. Our children and adults shared the gospel
and experienced Gods love in powerful ways! Thank you
for praying for us, packing lunches, and sending us out with
resources to spread the Good News of Jesus! We couldnt have
done it without you. A huge thanks goes out to Jessica Kyser,
Carolyn Kropp, Clay Richardson, Zac Scanlon, and Amanda
Lynch for being chaperones and leading as Christ.
