Edge Traffic Aggregation Nodes

Effective network monitoring and security begins with a properly constructed
Visibility Fabric at the edge. The edge typically includes traffic running at 1Gb, 10Gb,
or 40Gb. These links individually may be running at very low utilizations (<5%), making
it difficult to justify direct connections for every link. The GigaVUE TA Series edge nodes
are designed for networks with multiple low-utilization 1Gb, 10Gb, or 40Gb links that
require traffic aggregation. The GigaVUE TA Series nodes aggregate many ports of data
together prior to feeding the combined traffic into either GigaVUE G or H Series products
where sophisticated Flow Mapping filters create a powerful Visibility Fabric.
In addition to sending traffic directly to other GigaVUE G or H Series nodes, the edge
nodes can optionally cluster with other nodes to create a collective solution leveraging
resources or intelligence (GigaSMART) across the cluster. The low profile 1RU design
is intended to be deployed at the top of rack or end of row in data centers. Both AC and
DC power is available on all models.
