METROPOLIS // NOW
Uuuuurrgggghhhhh! Superman grunts as he tries to stabilize the large plane that
he holds in his hands above him. Hes never had to do something this hard. Of course he
hasnt been around as Superman for long, but they made it look so easy in the comic
books. The plane teeters back and forth as it at a now slower pace descends to wards
the ground. Trying to stop the plane from below does not seem to be working well.
Superman zooms to the front of the plane and tries to stop it with an opposing
force. He does nothing but gets slammed by the plane, sending him down towards the
ground as well. Superman balances himself in the air. He flies towards the left wing of
the plane. He grabs it and tilts it up with all of his strength, too much strength. The plane
flips up to an almost 90 degree angle with the ground, and drops straight down, even
faster than before.
Superman flies to the door and rips it open. He realizes that this is the private
plane of the now unconscious - Lex Luthor. Superman grabs Lex and his assistant
Mercy Graves and flies out of the plane. Superman drops them on the top of a Metropolis
skyscraper before darting back towards the plane. At this point people on the ground are
watching the scene play out, either with their naked eyes or through a TV screen.
Superman puckers his lips and blows a gust of air at the plane. The plane slows
down slightly. His heat vision charges up and he fires a blast at the plane. He begins
burning away at the plane. Some parts of the plane burn in to nothing, but most just
catches on fire. Thats when he realizes his stupid mistake. Superman hits the engine with
his heat ray. BOOM!! A large explosion sends Superman crashing to the ground, and
chunks of the plane descend upon Metropolis.
Superman crashes in to an open field of a park. As people walk towards and run
away from him, he begins to lose his consciousness. As everything goes black he thinks
to himself, what have I done? How could I have been so stupid?
