Hello everyone! Welcome to Aklan the Philippines oldest Province.

My name is Erika and I will be your

tour guide for today. I am aware you're very tired from your trip from Manila to Caticlan, but I do hope you
still have much energy left for our tour. So, are you ready?
Okay, As you may all know, we are currently on a 30 minute trip from Caticlan to Boracay. Let me remind
you of certain guidelines we must follow for our tour (in Boracay). When we arrive in Boracay, you just
have to remember few simple rules:

Do not litter on the beach as to preserve its beauty.

Don't conduct any activities that are likely to cause danger, obstruction, or nuisance to others

It is advised, for your safety, to not stray too far from the shore while swimming at the beach.
Make friends! Respect each other, local or not and lastly;
Do ENJOY the beauty of Boracay and have fun!

With that out of the way, let me first give you a little something about our destination.
Aklan has always been known for its pristine beauty. It has painted a definite niche in the world tourist
map. Year after year, it is host to thousands of tourists because of its colourful festival and the allure of its
beaches. It is the home of the world-class beach island, Boracay and the exotic pia fabric which has
clothed high society and high fashion.
Agriculture, fishery and forestry are currently the dominant economic activities in the province of Aklan. A
total of 85,437.92 hectares are devoted to agriculture. Common plantations are that of root crops, rice,
and coconuts.
Aklan is the site of Ati-Atihan, a celebration honouring the feast of Senior Sto. Nio, when rhythmic dancing
brightens Kalibo, the capital center of Aklan. It is celebrated every 3rd weekend of January and wherein the
lowlanders imitate their Ati brothers by rubbing their entire bodies w/charcoal to blacken their skin. The
whole town beats to the rhythm for days from dawn to dawn.
We have now arrived at our destination. Before leaving, please check your items and belongings. Make
sure you have not left any valuables behind. Also, please be careful when disembarking the ferry.
Aklan is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Philippines because of Boracay alone. This is
what and why most people travel here for. Boracays most popular beach is famous for its amazing sunsets
and its white sand that stays cool even in hot weather. Not only is it a lovely stretch of powdery white sand
against crystal water, it's also the commercial centre of the island. The long beach is divided into three
sections, Station 1, 2, and 3.
We are currently in station 1, the northernmost. It has the widest beachfront where prime hotels and
resorts are located. Accommodations are pricier, but quality is generally the best as well.
Station 2 is the commercial and geographical centre of white beach. This is the center for shopping,
eating, partying, and etc. With that said, the beach here is also the most crowded, as well as the noisiest
area.
Station 3 is the southernmost section; it is quieter than station 2. It is the least developed, but offers the
lowest price. All of White Beach from the northernmost tip of Station 1 to the southernmost of Station 3
(~4km) is open to the public, so one can relax and/or swim wherever you like, regardless of hotel location.
Other than swimming and partying, you can also indulge yourselves with several other activities. Leisure
activities available on or near Boracay include scuba diving, snorkelling, windsurfing, kite boarding, cliff
diving, and parasailing.

As the golden sun sets, it might as well be time for your beach relaxation now, and I think its time to say
goodbye. Again, my name is Erika, and I have been your tour guide for today. Thank you for visiting. I hope
you enjoyed travelling with me and I wish you all well.
