1. The cross
1.1 what does the cross stand for?
The Cross stands for Filipino Christian Living as Christ-centered. The life of
Christ as spelled out in the Gospels is the life that we want to emulate. As a
perpetualite the heart and soul of a student must be collinear with Christian
living.
1.2 What do the four corners represent?
The four corners of the cross represent the four pillars of Filipino Christian

Living, namely the following :


A. CHRISTIAN IN LIVING
B. CATHOLIC IN DOCTRINE
C. FILIPINO IN CHARACTER
D. PERPETUALITE IN VIRTUE.
These principles serve as the basic foundations of the course. They will also
provide the basis for evaluation whether the course objectives have been
achieved.

1.3 what does the vertical beam in the cross stand for?
The vertical beam of the cross stands for the relationship between God and
the Perpetualite. FCL should, therefore, be Christian in Living and Catholic
in Doctrine
1.4 . what does the horizontal beam stand for?
The horizontal beam of the cross stands for the relationship between the
Perpetualite and others: persons and the environment.

FCL should,

therefore, be Filipino in Character and Perpetualite in Virtue.


2. The equilateral triangle
2.1 what does the equilateral triangle stand for?
The equilateral triangle stands for the Trinity. The Filipino Christian Living is
Trinitarian. It is grounded in its belief in God the Father, God the Son and

God the Holy Spirit.


The equilateral triangle also stands for the Holy Family.

2.2 What does the three equal right angles stand for?
The three equal right angles of the triangle stand for the three human
dimensions of the Perpetualite which FCL aims to address to bring about an
integral Perpetualite formation, namely:
A. The HEAD
B. The HEART
C. The HAND
2.3 What does the right angle pointing upwards remind the perpetualite?
The right angle pointing upwards reminds the Perpetualite that the prime
objective of FCL is to bring every Perpetualite to the knowledge, love and
service of God.
2.4 What does the two right angles of the side stand for?
The two right angles on the side stand for the incarnational aspect of FCL.
The experience of Gods love serves as the driving force to love ones
neighbor.
3. The circle
3.1 what does the circle stand for?
The circle stands for God, the Alpha and the Omega, the center of our lives.
Which tells that as a Christian who lives in the way of the lord, we started
from our creator and will end with our creator ; which can create and
destroy.
3.2 What does the word character building is nation building mean?
This is the core, the motto, the mission of FCL. The UPHS strives to form
Perpetualites who serve as instruments for nation building marked with an

integral character. This is the brand of a true Perpetualite.


In other terms marked by the researcher is that without character in
everyone in one society, the society will not and cannot prosper in any way
due to the lack of professionalism, passion for its community, initialization
for prosperity.

4. The UPHSD ( University of Perpetual Help System Dalta) LOGO


4.1 that does the LOGO stand for?
The UPHS Logo stands for the UPHS family which includes

the administration.
The heart of the course is to form individuals who are truly endowed with the
Perpetualite identity.
