Cisco IP Phone Quick Reference Guide


Please setup your new VM. To access your Voice Mail from your IP phone:

Press the Mail button on your phone and follow the voice instructions. Initial pw is
sandiego (72634346).
* When you receive a new message, a flashing envelope icon displays on your LCD
screen and the light on your handset glows to indicate that you have received a new
message.
*To retrieve your old messages from your old VM system - dial *58288
When you access your VM the 1st time it will prompt you to change your PIN:
The PIN cannot contain your primary extension or its reverse.
The PIN must contain at least three different digits.
The digits cannot all be consecutive, in ascending or descending order (for example, 12345 or 54321).
A digit cannot be used more than two times consecutively (for example, 14777).
The PIN cannot contain repeated groups of three or more digits (for example, 408510408).
The PIN cannot be a numeric representation of your first or last name, or the combination of your first
and last names. (For example, if your name is John Doe, you could not use a numeric representation of
johnd, johndoe, jdoe, doe.)

To place a call you may choose the following options:


Lift the handset, dial 9, and then dial the number OR Press the line button for your
extension, then dial 9, and then dial the number OR Press the Speaker button, then dial
9, and then dial the number OR Press the New Call soft key, then dial 9, and then dial
the number
To answer a call:
Lift the handset OR To use the speakerphone, press the Answer soft key or the
Speaker button.
To end a call:
Hang up the handset OR If you are using a headset, press the Headset button or the
EndCall soft key OR If you are using the speakerphone, press the Speaker button or the
EndCall soft key.
To redial a number:
To redial the most recently dialed number, press the Redial soft key.
To view Missed; Placed; Received calls:
Press the Settings button then Press 1 for Call History and use the soft keys and/or
scroll button to find your desired #.
To speed dial from a directory menu:
Press the Directories button. Find the directory that you want, then press the
corresponding item number. Press the Dial soft key to speed dial a selected number.
Note: To enter any letter on your LCD screen, use a corresponding number key. Press the
key one or more times to display a particular letter. For example, press 2 once for a,
twice for b, and three times for c. To back up, press the << soft key. Use the toggle
key to switch search from First to Last name lookup.

To put a call on hold:

Press the Hold button.


To return to the call, press the Resume soft key.
If multiple calls are on hold, use the Navigation button to select the desired call
before you press Resume.
If multiple calls on multiple lines are on hold, press the line button for the line to
which you want to switch or use the Navigation button to select the desired call. Press
Resume.
Note: Because engaging the Hold feature generates music or a beeping tone, avoid
putting a conference call on hold.
Swap Between Held and Active Calls on Multiple Lines

If your phone supports multiple lines, use line buttons to swap between held and active
calls. For example, if you have a held call on Line 1 and an active call on Line 2, press the
Line 1 button to make the Line 1 call active (resume it from hold) and to automatically put
the Line 2 call on hold.

Put a Call on Hold by Answering a New Call on Another Line

If your phone supports multiple lines, and you are already on a call when a new call rings,
answering the new call puts the first call on hold automatically. To answer the new call in
this case, press the flashing amber line button or the Answer softkey.

Determine if a Shared Line is on Hold

If your phone supports multiple lines, use line buttons to swap between held and active
calls. For example, if you have a held call on Line 1 and an active call on Line 2, press the
Line 1 button to make the Line 1 call active (resume it from hold) and to automatically put
the Line 2 call on hold. If your phone supports multiple lines, and you are already on a call
when a new call rings, answering the new call puts the first call on hold automatically. To
answer the new call in this case, press the flashing amber line button or the Answer
softkey.

Determine if a Shared Line is on Hold

Look for a flashing red line button and the hold icon. When these indicators display, a call
on the shared line has been put on hold remotely by the other user.

To place a conference call:


During a call, press the more softkey and then the Confrn softkey to open a new line
and put the first party on hold.
Place a call to another number then when the call connects, press Confrn again to
add the new party to the call

To transfer a call:
During a call, press the Trnsfer softkey.
Dial the number to which you want to transfer the call. As soon as you hear ringing, or
after the party answers, press Trnsfer again.
Note: If the transfer fails, press the Resume soft key to return to the original call.
To forward all calls to another number:
Press the FwdAll soft key. You will hear two beeps then you enter the number to
which you want to forward all of your calls. Note: Enter the number exactly as you
would if you were placing a call to that number. An animated phone icon flashes in the
upper-right corner of your LCD screen.
To forward straight to VM, Press the FwdAll soft key, then press the messages button
or enter extension 58288.
To cancel call forwarding, press the FwdAll soft key.
To mute a call:
Press the Mute button. To disengage mute, press Mute again or lift the handset.

2 Phone screen Shows information about your phone
such as directory number, active call and line status,
softkey options, speed dials, placed calls, and phone
menu listings.
3 Softkey buttons Depending on how your system
administrator sets up the phone enable softkey options
displayed on your phone screen.
4 Transfer button Transfers a call.
5 Conference button creates a conference call.
6 Hold button Places an active call on hold.
7 Navigation bar and Select button The Navigation bar
allows you to scroll through menus and highlight items.
When phone is on hook, displays phone numbers from
your Placed Call listing (up arrow) or your speed dials
(down arrow). The Select button (in the middle of the Navigation bar) allows you to select
a highlighted item.
8 Line 1 and Line 2 buttons Line 1 selects the primary phone line. Depending on how
your system administrator sets up the phone, Line 2 may provide access to: Secondary
phone line Speed-dial number (speed-dial button) Web-based service (for example, a
Personal Address Book button) Buttons illuminate to indicate status: Green, steady
Active call Green, flashingHeld call Amber, flashingIncoming call or reverting call
Red, steadyRemote line in use (shared line) Red, flashingRemote line on hold
9 Headset button Toggles the headset on or off. When the headset is on, the button is
lit.
10 Speakerphone button Toggles the speakerphone on or off. When the speakerphone
is on, the button is lit.

11 Keypad allows you to dial phone numbers, enter letters, and select menu items (by
entering the item number).
12 Mute button Toggles the microphone on or off. When the microphone is muted, the
button is lit.
13 Volume button Controls the handset, headset, and speakerphone volume (off hook)
and the ringer volume (on hook).
14 Messages button Auto-dials your voicemail system (varies by system).
15 Applications button Opens/closes the Applications menu. Use it to access call
history, user preferences, phone settings, and phone model information.
16 Contacts button Opens/closes the Directories menu. Use it to access personal and
corporate directories.

To ACCESS your phone Web configuration page:


Launch your web browser to http://sdcsdg10-s15/ccmuser, your user ID is the same
as your AD account, and your pw is the same as your AD account. (If prompted to
accept security settings, select Yes or Install Certificate.)

To ACCESS your VM Web Inbox:


Heres the link to get your VM from a Web interface https://10.216.2.21/inbox/ (press
continue/yes to get past certificate).
Note: The web link does say you need to download QuickTime to play the files on the
web link, but you can click on the message and right click on the .wav file to download
it to your PC to play it.
