1.
NAMEANDDEFINITIONS

1.1. ThenameoftheSocietyshallbetheUniversityofSheffieldStudentsUnionNotOnly
DungeonsandDragonsSociety(hereafterreferredtoastheSociety).
1.2. ThedefinitionsgivenintheUniversityofSheffieldStudentsUnionConstitutionshallalso
bevalidthroughoutthisConstitution.

AIMSANDOBJECTIVES
2.1.1Topromoteadventureandroleplaygaminginafriendlyandsocialenvironment.
2.1.2

Toprovidegamingandsocialeventsforthemembership.

2.1.3

Toforgelinkswithsimilarlymindedorganisations.

2.2.
InpursuanceoftheaboveAimsandObjectives,theSocietyshallensurethatthe
safetyofallpersonsaffectedbytheSociety'sactivitiesistreatedwiththeutmost
importance.

3.

MEMBERSHIP

3.1.
MembershipoftheSocietyshallbeopentoallFullMembersoftheUnionwho
areinbroadagreementwiththeSocietysAimsandObjectives,asdefinedinclause2of
thisConstitution.
3.2.
MembershipoftheSocietymaybegrantedtoindividualswhoareinbroad
agreementwiththeSocietysAimsandObjectives,asdefinedinclause2ofthis
Constitution,butwhoarenotFullMembersoftheUnion,subjecttoamajorityofSociety
membersbeingFullMembersoftheUnion.

3.3.

paymentofamembership
aSocietyGeneralMeeting.
4.

Membership
grantedon
fee,thelevelofwhichshallbesetby

SOCIETYGOVERNMENT

4.1.
AdministrativeaffairsoftheSocietyshallbeconductedbyaSocietyCommittee,
whichshallconsistofthefollowingpositions:
Chairperson
Secretary
Treasurer
InclusionsOfficer
SocialSecretary
4.2.
AllSocietyCommitteeMembersshallbemembersoftheSocietyandFull
MembersoftheUnion.
4.3.

NopersonmayholdmorethanonepositionontheSocietyCommittee.

4.4.
SocietyCommitteeMembersshallbeelectedattheAnnualGeneralMeetingof
theSociety,althoughvacantpositionsmaybefilledatanySocietyGeneralMeeting.
4.5.
TheSocietywillprovidetheUnionwithafulllistofcommitteemembers,
immediatelyfollowingtheirelection.
4.6.
Societycommitteemembersshallnotoperateonautonomouslinesbutshalltake
intoaccounttheneedsandwishesoftheSocietymembership,asexpressedbothatSociety
GeneralMeetingsandelsewhere.
5.

SOCIETYGENERALMEETINGS

5.1.
Union.

AllGeneralMeetingsoftheSocietyshallbeopentoallFullMembersofthe

OrdinaryGeneralMeetingsshallbecalledbyeithertheChairpersonofthe
Societyor15%oftheregisteredSocietymembership.
5.3.
TheAnnualGeneralMeeting(AGM)oftheSocietyshallbeheldnotmorethan
thirteenmonthsnorlessthanelevenmonthsafterthepreviousAGM.
5.4.
ThebusinessfortheAGMshallincludetheelectionofSocietyCommittee
membersandpresentationoftheannualfinancialaccountsoftheSociety.
5.5.
AminimumoffivedaysnoticeofGeneralMeetingsshallbegiven,exceptforthe
SocietyAGM,ofwhichatleasttendaysnoticeshallbegiven.

6.

SOCIETY

FINANCES

6.1.
TheSocietysfundsshallonlybeusedinfurtheranceoftheAimsandObjectives
oftheSociety,asdefinedinclause2ofthisConstitution.
6.2.
TheTreasurershallberesponsiblefortheproperaccountingofSocietyfunds,in
accordancewithUnionregulations.
6.3.
TwosignatoriesshallberequiredforSocietyfinancialtransactions,ofwhichone
signatoryshallbetheTreasurerandtheotheranOfficeroftheSociety.
6.4.
Union.

IntheeventoftheSocietyceasingtoexist,allSocietyfundsshallreverttothe

RELATIONSWITHTHEUNION

7.1.
AsarecognisedUnionsociety,theSocietyshallatalltimesabidebythe
ConstitutionandByelawsoftheUnion.
7.2.
TheSocietyshallalsoabidebyallregulationsissuedbytheActivities
Committee.
8.

SUSPENSION,WITHDRAWALORREFUSALOFMEMBERSHIP

8.1.
MembershipoftheSocietymayberefused,suspendedforaspecifiedperiodor
withdrawn,withtheapprovalofatwothirdsmajorityoftheSocietyCommitteeandatwo
thirdsmajorityofaSocietyGeneralMeeting.
8.2.
ThisshallbesubjecttoappealtotheActivitiesCommitteewhichmayuphold,
amendorannulthedecisionoftheSociety.
9.

AMENDMENTSTOTHECONSTITUTION

9.1.
AmendmentstothisConstitutionshallbedeemedtotakeeffectonceapproved
byatwothirdsmajorityataSocietyGeneralMeetingandacceptedbytheActivities
Committee.
