Valley County 5th graders learn about the Great Outdoors



The
Valley
County
Conservation District hosted the
22nd Annual Outdoor Classroom
for 5th graders on May 12.
Over 100 fifth grade students
from all schools in Valley County
and 17 volunteers from NRCS,

DNRC, MT FWP, MSU Extension


Service, CMR Refuge, US Army
Corps of Engineers, USFWS, and
Valley County Weed Department
came together for a fun day of
natural education.
The day began at East Side

School for an edible insect


presentation by Roubie Younking of
MSU Extension Service followed by
treats loaded with edible insects.
The students then traveled to
Kiwanis Park where they rotated

Valley County Conservation District would like
to thank the volunteers for making the day possible,
to Ezzies for their donation of water and ice for the
students and volunteers, and to East Side School for the
lunches they provided for the volunteers.

Reds 2nd in Lewistown


The Glasgow Reds American Legion Baseball Team
was in Lewistown for the Harold Gjerde Memorial
Tournament where they went undefeated right up to
the title game.
They edged the Gallatin Valley Outlaws 7-6, got
past the Great Falls Electrics 4-1, 10-run-ruled the
Weyburn As 13-3 and beat the Bitterroot Bucks 8-4.
In Sundays championship, the Dickinson Rough
Riders won the tough battle in the end, 4-3.

The Reds are off until Thursday when they travel to
the Dickinson Invitational.

& Shine at the Glasgow Elks Lodge. Not only was

it a beautiful Sunday afternoon, it was an excellent


turnout as over 70 vintage vehicles lined the streets.
