Review
Invite the pupils to play the scrambled letters

Give each group an envelope containing sets of letters like D N X I L.
The leader of the class or the teacher reads the questions on the strips of paper
The group arranges the letters to form the correct word.
The group with the most correct words formed is the winner. e.g. It contains a list

Motivation

Say: Lets find out what information are found in each section of a newspaper.
Give each group an activity package (sample/cut-outs of the section of the
newspaper for study. Enclosed activity sheets are also enclosed in it.
Group I- Works on the Front Page
Activity Sheet:
Using the clipping of the front page of the newspaper, read the
articles carefully. Answer the following questions. Report your answer to class.
1. What is the most important news of the day? (Write your answer.)
2. How is the news written? in bold letters
3. What do you call the news written in capital or bold letters? (headline)
4. What does the headline tell the readers? The headline is the most important
news of the day
5. Look at the other news at the front page. How are the titles written? They are
written in smaller letters
6. Do they give us the current news of the day? (Yes)

Group II Works on the Editorial Page
Activity Sheet: Using the clippings of an editorial page, read the articles carefully.
Answer the following questions and be able to report your findings in class.
