ABOUT CSI, IETE & IE(I)

The CSI has been instrumental in guiding the Indian IT

The IETE is Indias leading recognized professional
society devoted to the advancement of Science and
Technology of Electronics, Telecommunication & IT.
IE(I) was established in 1920 in Madras it is the largest
multi-disciplinary engineering professional society in
the English-speaking world. It is currently headquartered in Kolkata.

ABOUT THE INSTITUTE

Founded in 1981 by Vasavi Academy of Education, Vasavi College of Engineering (VCE)
represents a rich tradition of excellence in technology-based education . A Premier-league
institution among the affiliates of OU, Vasavi College of Engineering owes its vision to
Sri Pendekanti Venkata Subbaiah, a veteran statesman of Independent India. It is located at
Ibrahimbagh, Hyderabad, which is 9 km from Mehdipatnam, en route to Gandipet. The
campus is spread over a sprawling 13.6 acres of sylvan and salubrious locale. Over the years,
Vasavi College of Engineering has developed a reputation as an academic institution that
addresses the needs of real learning, in line with the demands of a progressive society. The
mission of the college has been to equip the young engineers with competitive technology
and nurture their holistic development towards building a better society. The College offers
4-year B.E. programmes in Civil, Mechanical, ECE, EEE, CSE and IT. The college also offers

The department of Information Technology was established in the year 2000. The department
offers a 4-year B.E. degree programme in Information Technology with an annual intake of
120 students. It has been increased from 60 to 120 from the academic year 2012-13. The
curriculum of I.T. emphasizes the ongoing Convergence of Computers, Communications and
Control Systems. The programme ensures that the student effectively meets the highest benchmarks of competence required by the industry. The Mission of the department is to enable
the students to acquire outstanding competence and skills in the latest technologies through
practice-oriented teaching and training.
