Accordingtothestory,inthemostancientoftimesaKamitickingnamedAusardiscoveredthemethodofraisinghisconsciousnessto
thehighestdivisionofhisspirit,andincreasinghisspiritualpowertoitshighestpotential(spheres0,1,2,and3).Asaresulthewas
abletobringcivilizationaspirituallycontrolledwayoflifetothepeople,withitsaccompanyingsocialharmony,peace,and
prosperity.(**PleaserecallwhatwassaidabouttheattributesofAusar**)Orderinthelandwasmaintainedbyasystemthat
effectivelydevelopedthemoralfacultiesinpeople,andbyallowingonlysuchmenandwomenwhohaddevelopedtheirmoral
faculties(4,5,and6)toholdpositionsofgovernment.Itwasntlongbeforehisyoungestbrother,Setsymbolofthededicationofour
intellectualfaculties(logicalandartistic)totheserviceofthesensuous,andemotionalnaturebecamejealousofalltheadulationand
homagepaidtoAusar.Drivenbyhislustforpower,andtherebelliousnessoftheanimalspiritagainsttheorderandlawsimposedby
Ausar,Set,withtheassistanceofaconfederacyofnogooders(theSebau,fromSebek,Deityofthe8thsphere),killedAusar.They
thenhackedhisbodyintofourteenpieces,andscatteredthemallovertheland.ItissaidthatashrinetoaDeityemergedateachplace
whereapartofhisbodyfell.Thosewithunderstandingwillgraspwhatisimpliedregardingpolytheism.WithAusaroutoftheway,
SetusurpedtheKingship,andproceededtoterrorizetheworld.Hecreatedthefirstempireruleofaforeignpoweroverothersand
replacedthesystemofmaintainingsocialorderthroughmoralcultivationwithapolicingsystemassymbolizedbythefragmentingof
thebodyofAusarintopieces,heseparatedreligionfromthestate,education,separatedGodfromnature,fromMan,separatedspirit
fromphysicalmatter,thedivinefromthemundaneinshort,heinstitutedaninsidioussystemofdividingandsegregatingallthings
andpeoplefromeachotherandthewhole.Inshort,healienatedManfromGod,theworld,andhimself.Setsrule,ofcourse,isthatof
allSahumen,onthesociallevel,andtheruleofthefacultiesoftheanimalspiritandSahu(spheres7,8,and9)partsofthespiritinall
men.

Tehuti,otherssaythatwithAusarschoicestpart,sheimmaculatelyconceivedasonHerutoAusar,whoasalegitimateheirtothe
thronecouldchallengeSet,whohadusurpedit.AsintheChristianmyth,whichwascopiedfromtheAusarianmetaphoreinthousands
ofyearslater,Set,hearingaboutthebirthofakingwhowouldchallengehisreignandsavethekingdom,senthisagentsouttofindand
killthechild.ButAusetwasabletoeludethemandraiseHerutomanhood.Grownintofullmanhood,heengagedsetinaseriesof
battlesthatlastedforhundredsofyears.Victoryslippedinandoutofthehandsofeachcombatant.Butthisstalematewasavictoryto
Set,foraslongasmoralityandspiritualitydidnotruletheworld,hewasachievinghisgoal.Eventually,Herulearnedoftheexistence

accomplishedmilitarily,butinthecourtoflaw,whereSetwastrickedintoacceptingtheverylawsthathehaddevisedtoenslave
othersmaintaininglawandorder,hecalledit.AsoneofSetsstrongpointswascommunication(Sebekthe8thspherewashis
maincomponent),hispenaltywastoserveasthewindthatpropelstheboatofAusari.e.,todisseminatethewisdomofAusar
throughouttheworlds.ThekingdomofNeter(God)wasnowreestablishedwithHeruastheking,butguidedbyAusar,whomhe
reawakened,orresuscitated,fromtimetotime.

TheseSevenPrincipleswillbediscussedandexplainedasweproceedwiththeselessons.Ashortexplanationofeach,however,mayaswellbe
givenatthispoint.
I.THEPRINCIPLEOFMENTALISM.
"THEALLisMINDTheUniverseisMental."
ThisPrincipleembodiesthetruththat"AllisMind."ItexplainsthatTHEALL(whichistheSubstantialRealityunderlyingalltheoutward
manifestationsandappearanceswhichweknowunderthetermsof"TheMaterialUniverse"the"PhenomenaofLife""Matter""Energy"and,
inshort,allthatisapparenttoourmaterialsenses)isSPIRIT,whichinitselfisUNKNOWABLEandUNDEFINABLE,butwhichmaybe
consideredandthoughtofasANUNIVERSAL,INFINITE,LIVINGMIND.Italsoexplainsthatallthephenomenalworldoruniverseissimply
aMentalCreationofTHEALL,subjecttotheLawsofCreatedThings,andthattheuniverse,asawhole,andinitspartsorunits,hasits
existenceintheMindofTHEALL,inwhichMindwe"liveandmoveandhaveourbeing."ThisPrinciple,byestablishingtheMentalNatureof
theUniverse,easilyexplainsallofthevariedmentalandpsychicphenomenathatoccupysuchalargeportionofthepublicattention,andwhich,
withoutsuchexplanation,arenonunderstandableanddefyscientifictreatment.AnunderstandingofthisgreatkemeticPrincipleofMentalism
enablestheindividualtoreadilygraspthelawsoftheMentalUniverse,andtoapplythesametohiswellbeingandadvancement.TheStudent
AdeptisenabledtoapplyintelligentlythegreatMentalLaws,insteadofusingtheminahaphazardmanner.WiththeMasterKeyinhis
possession,thestudentmayunlockthemanydoorsofthementalandpsychictempleofknowledge,andenterthesamefreelyandintelligently.
ThisPrincipleexplainsthetruenatureof"Energy,""Power,"and"Matter,"andwhyandhowallthesearesubordinatetotheMasteryofMind.
OneoftheoldKemetianAdeptMasterswrote,longagesago:"HewhograspsthetruthoftheMentalNatureoftheUniverseiswelladvancedon
ThePathtoMastery."Andthesewordsareastruetodayasatthetimetheywerefirstwritten.WithoutthisMasterKey,Masteryisimpossible,
andthestudentknocksinvainatthemanydoorsofTheTemple.

II.THEPRINCIPLEOFCORRESPONDENCE.
"Asabove,sobelowasbelowsoabove."

ThisPrincipleembodiesthetruththatthereisalwaysaCorrespondencebetweenthelawsandphenomenaofthevariousplanesofBeingand
Life.TheoldKemeticaxiomraninthesewords:"Asabove,sobelowasbelow,soabove."AndthegraspingofthisPrinciplegivesonethe
meansofsolvingmanyadarkparadox,andhiddensecretofNature.Thereareplanesbeyondourknowing,butwhenweapplythePrincipleof
Correspondencetothemweareabletounderstandmuchthatwouldotherwisebeunknowabletous.ThisPrincipleisofuniversalapplicationand
manifestation,onthevariousplanesofthematerial,mental,andspiritualuniverseitisanUniversalLaw.TheancientKemetianAdept
consideredthisPrincipleasoneofthemostimportantmentalinstrumentsbywhichmanwasabletopryasidetheobstacleswhichhidfromview
theUnknown.ItsuseeventoreasidetheVeilofAusettotheextentthataglimpseofthefaceofthegoddessmightbecaught.Justasa
knowledgeofthePrinciplesofGeometryenablesmantomeasuredistantsunsandtheirmovements,whileseatedinhisobservatory,soa
knowledgeofthePrincipleofCorrespondenceenablesMantoreasonintelligentlyfromtheKnowntotheUnknown.Studyingtheunity,he
understandstheswiftangel.

III.THEPRINCIPLEOFVIBRATION.
"Nothingrestseverythingmoveseverythingvibrates."

ThisPrincipleembodiesthetruththat"everythingisinmotion""everythingvibrates""nothingisatrest"factswhichModernScienceendorses,
andwhicheachnewscientificdiscoverytendstoverify.AndyetthiskemeticPrinciplewasenunciatedthousandsofyearsago,bytheMastersof
AncientKemet.ThisPrincipleexplainsthatthedifferencesbetweendifferentmanifestationsofMatter,Energy,Mind,andevenSpirit,result
largelyfromvaryingratesofVibration.FromTHEALL,whichisPureSpirit,downtothegrossestformofMatter,allisinvibrationthe
higherthevibration,thehigherthepositioninthescale.ThevibrationofSpiritisatsuchaninfiniterateofintensityandrapiditythatitis
practicallyatrestjustasarapidlymovingwheelseemstobemotionless.Andattheotherendofthescale,therearegrossformsofmatter
whosevibrationsaresolowastoseematrest.Betweenthesepoles,therearemillionsuponmillionsofvaryingdegreesofvibration.From
corpuscleandelectron,atomandmolecule,toworldsanduniverses,everythingisinvibratorymotion.Thisisalsotrueontheplanesofenergy
andforce(whicharebutvaryingdegreesofvibration)andalsoonthementalplanes(whosestatesdependuponvibrations)andevenontothe
spiritualplanes.AnunderstandingofthisPrinciple,withtheappropriateformulas,enablesStudentAdeptstocontroltheirownmentalvibrations
aswellasthoseofothers.TheMastersalsoapplythisPrincipletotheconqueringofNaturalphenomena,invariousways."Hewhounderstands
thePrincipleofVibration,hasgraspedthesceptreofPower,"(ScimitarofConsciousness)saysoneoftheoldwriters.

IV.THEPRINCIPLEOFPOLARITY.

degreesofthesamething.Lookatyourthermometerandseeifyoucandiscoverwhere"heat"terminatesand"cold"begins!Thereisnosuch
thingas"absoluteheat"or"absolutecold"thetwoterms"heat"and"cold"simplyindicatevaryingdegreesofthesamething,andthat"same
thing"whichmanifestsas"heat"and"cold"ismerelyaform,variety,andrateofVibration.So"heat"and"cold"aresimplythe"twopoles"of
thatwhichwecall"Heat"andthephenomenaattendantthereuponaremanifestationsofthePrincipleofPolarity.ThesamePrinciple
manifestsinthecaseof"LightandDarkness,"whicharethesamething,thedifferenceconsistingofvaryingdegreesbetweenthetwopolesof
thephenomena.Wheredoes"darkness"leaveoff,and"light"begin?Whatisthedifferencebetween"LargeandSmall"?Between"Hardand
Soft"?Betweensocalled"BlackandWhite"?Between"SharpandDull"?Between"NoiseandQuiet"?Between"HighandLow"?Between
"PositiveandNegative"?ThePrincipleofPolarityexplainstheseparadoxes,andnootherPrinciplecansupersedeit.ThesamePrincipleoperates
ontheMentalPlane.Letustakearadicalandextremeexamplethatof"LoveandHate,"twomentalstatesapparentlytotallydifferent.And
yettherearedegreesofhateanddegreesofLove,andamiddlepointinwhichweusetheterms"LikeorDislike,"whichshadeintoeachotherso
graduallythatsometimesweareatalosstoknowwhetherwe"like"or"dislike"or"neither."Andallaresimplydegreesofthesamething,as
youwillseeifyouwillbutthinkamoment.And,morethanthis(andconsideredofmoreimportancebytheKemetianAdept),itispossibleto
changethevibrationsofhatetothevibrationsofLove,inone'sownmind,andinthemindsofothers.Manyofyou,whoreadtheselines,have
hadpersonalexperiencesoftheinvoluntaryrapidtransitionfromLovetoHate,andthereverse,inyourowneaseandthatofothers.Andyouwill
thereforerealizethepossibilityofthisbeingaccomplishedbytheuseoftheWill,bymeansoftheKemeticformulas."GoodandEvil"arebutthe
polesofthesamething,andtheKemetianAdeptunderstandstheartoftransmutingEvilintoGood,bymeansofanapplicationofthePrincipleof
Polarity.Inshort,the"ArtofPolarization"becomesaphaseof"MentalAlchemy"knownandpracticedbytheancientandmodernKemetic
Masters.AnunderstandingofthePrinciplewillenableonetochangehisownPolarity,aswellasthatofothers,ifhewilldevotethetimeand
studynecessarytomastertheart.

V.THEPRINCIPLEOFRHYTHM.
"Everythingflows,outandineverything(Manifest)hasitstidesallthingsriseandfallthependulumswingmanifestsineverythingthe
measureoftheswingtotherightisthemeasureoftheswingtotheleftrhythmcompensates."

ThisPrincipleembodiesthetruththatineverythingthereismanifestedameasuredmotion,toandfroaflowandinflowaswingbackwardand
forwardapendulumlikemovementatidelikeebbandflowahightideandlowtidebetweenthetwopoleswhichexistinaccordancewiththe
PrincipleofPolaritydescribedamomentago.Thereisalwaysanactionandareactionanadvanceandaretreatarisingandasinking.Thisisin
theaffairsoftheUniverse,suns,worlds,men,animals,mind,energy,andmatter.Thislawismanifestinthecreationanddestructionofworlds
intheriseandfallofnationsinthelifeofallthingsandfinallyinthementalstatesofMan(anditiswiththislatterthattheKemetianAdept
findtheunderstandingofthePrinciplemostimportant).TheKemetianAdeptshavegraspedthisPrinciple,findingitsuniversalapplication,and
havealsodiscoveredcertainmeanstoovercomeitseffectsinthemselvesbytheuseoftheappropriateformulasandmethods.Theyapplythe
MentalLawofNeutralization.TheycannotannulthePrinciple,orCauseittoceaseitsoperation,buttheyhavelearnedhowtoescapeitseffects
uponthemselvestoacertaindegreedependingupontheMasteryofthePrinciple.TheyhavelearnedhowtoUSEit,insteadofbeingUSEDBY
it.Inthisandsimilarmethods,consisttheArtoftheKemetianAdepts.TheMasterofKemeticSciencepolarizeshimselfatthepointatwhichhe
desirestorest,andthenneutralizestheRhythmicswingofthependulumwhichwouldtendtocarryhimtotheotherpole.Allindividualswho
haveattainedanydegreeofSelfMasterydothistoacertaindegree,moreorlessunconsciously,buttheMasterdoesthisconsciously,andbythe
useofhisWillandattainsadegreeofPoiseandMentalFirmnessalmostimpossibleofbeliefonthepartofthemasseswhoareswungbackward
andforwardlikeapendulum.ThisPrincipleandthatofPolarityhavebeencloselystudiedbytheKemetianAdept,andthemethodsof
counteracting,neutralizingandUSINGthemformanimportantpartoftheKemeticMentalAlchemy.

VI.THEPRINCIPLEOFCAUSEANDEFFECT.
"EveryCausehasitsEffecteveryEffecthasitsCauseeverythinghappensaccordingtoLawChanceisbutanameforLawnotrecognized
therearemanyplanesofcausation,butnothingescapestheLaw."

ThisPrincipleembodiesthefactthatthereisaCauseforeveryEffectanEffectfromeveryCause.Itexplainsthat:"EverythingHappens
accordingtoLaw"thatnothingever"merelyhappens"thatthereisnosuchthingasChancethatwhiletherearevariousplanesofCauseand
Effect,thehigherdominatingthelowerplanes,stillnothingeverentirelyescapestheLaw.TheKemtianAdeptsunderstandtheartandmethods
ofrisingabovetheordinaryplaneofCauseandEffect,toacertaindegree,andbymentallyrisingtoahigherplanetheybecomeCausersinstead
ofEffects.Themassesofpeoplearecarriedalong,obedienttoenvironmentthewillsanddesiresofothersstrongerthanthemselvesheredity
suggestionandotheroutwardcausesmovingthemaboutlikepawnsontheChessboardofLife.ButtheMasters,risingtotheplaneabove,
dominatetheirmoods,characters,qualities,andpowers,aswellastheenvironmentsurroundingthem,andbecomeMoversinsteadofpawns.
TheyhelptoPLAYTHEGAMEOFLIFE,insteadofbeingplayedandmovedaboutbyotherwillsandenvironment.TheyUSEthePrinciple
insteadofbeingitstools.TheMastersobeytheCausationofthehigherplanes,buttheyhelptoRULEontheirownplane.Inthisstatementthere
iscondensedawealthofKemeticknowledgelethimreadwhocan.

ThisPrincipleembodiesthetruththatthereisGENDERmanifestedineverything(Manifest)theMasculineandFemininePrincipleseverat
work.ThisistruenotonlyofthePhysicalPlane,butoftheMentalandeventheSoulPlane.OnthePhysicalPlane,thePrinciplemanifestsas
SEX,ontheSoulplanesittakesphantomforms,butthePrincipleiseverthesame.Nocreation,physical,mentalorsoul,ispossiblewithoutthis
Principle.Anunderstandingofitslawswillthrowlightonmanyasubjectthathasperplexedthemindsofmen.ThePrincipleofGenderworks
everinthedirectionofgeneration,regeneration.Everything,andeveryperson,containsthetwoElementsorPrinciples,orthisgreatPrinciple,
