September 2008-December 2008 Field Placement at Gardner Middle School, Lansing, 4 hrs/week
Observed classroom management strategies and helped students finish assignments in a
sixth grade resource room class.
Gained knowledge about teaching and working with special needs students.
Analyzed teacher practices, my own experiences and conversations with faculty and
students to consider what I want to utilize in my future classrooms and how to best
incorporate special need students in mainstreamed classrooms.
May 2003-June 2003 Field Placement at Patengill Middle School, Lansing, 4 hrs/week
Observed lessons and classroom management strategies in sixth grade English classroom.
Worked with small groups of students with their writing.
Practiced strategies for management of small-group work.
June 2007/2008-August 2007/2008 Mission Intern for Second Grace United Methodist Church,
Detroit, MI (Did this for two summers 2007 and 2008)
Worked with other interns to plan a summer youth program.
Worked with a group of students and led numerous activities with them.
Taught a bible lesson every morning for the students and developed fun and creative ways to
keep them engaged.
Read with students and worked with a specific student to enhance his reading skills.
Designed and turned in lesson plans to our Coordinator

PERSONAL INTERESTS
My interests and hobbies include being involved in various activities, soccer, traveling, and reading
all types of literature. I played soccer and tennis at Plymouth High School. I also really enjoyed my
high school’s student government. I would like to eventually become an advisor for my future high
school’s student government program.
