Vision of the Divine - Deedar e Zaat

e Illahi
The followers (Ummat) of Prophet Moses (Alehis salaatu assalaam) asked him how
was it possible to believe in anything that one has not seen; achieve perfect faith
(Kaamil Emaan) in the reality and existence of God. “You speak of an unseen God.
How can we believe in this God of yours when we have not seen him? How can we
be sure that He even exists?” they asked. “If He does indeed exist then we wish to
see Him so that we can believe in Him with all of our hearts and souls”. To Prophet
Moses (Alehis salaatu assalaam) this seemed like a reasonable request. After
evaluating the possibilities and considering the circumstances, Prophet Moses
(Alehis salaatu assalaam) thought it best to take forty witnesses with him (one tribal
chief from each of the forty tribes that followed him) and make the request to the
Almighty to grant them His Divine Vision (Deedar e Zaat e Illahi). Having gathered
his forty chiefs, Prophet Moses (Alehis salaatu assalaam) proceeded towards Mount
Sinai. Upon arrival, Prophet Moses (Alehis salaatu assalaam) decided to leave his
followers (Ummati) at the base of Mount Sinai, instructing them to await his return
from speaking with Almighty Allah. He travelled till he reached the Station of the
Burning Bush (Maqam e Zaitoon),

Brief Note on Muqaam e Zaitoon:

Maqaam e Zaitoon is the place on Mount Sinai where Almighty Allah spoke directly to
Prophet Moses (Alehis salaatu assalaam). This place is also called the Station of the Burning
Bush because at this very spot, Prophet Moses (Alehis salaatu assalaam) saw a bush that
was continuously burning with fire yet there was no smoke emitting from it, the branches or
leaves did not burn, and nor were there any ashes on the ground. The explanation of this
phenomenon is that what appeared to be earthly fire was in fact the Divine Flame of
Almighty Allah (Noor e Illahi) which can never be extinguished.

where he heard Almighty Allah’s voice commanding him, “O Moses, take off thy
sandals, for thou art on Holy Ground” and he obeyed. Prophet Moses (Alehis salaatu
assalaam) then requested Almighty Allah to grant him His Divine Vision (Deedar e
Zaat e Illahi) but was given the answer, “Lan Taraani – meaning it cannot happen as
you do not have the capacity to bear My Vision”. Prophet Moses (Alehis salaatu
assalaam) enquired if anyone else would be able to bear the Divine Vision, to which
Almighty Allah replied, “Yes. This blessing is reserved for My Beloved Prophet and
his followers (Ummat).” This revelation was quite startling for Prophet Moses (Alehis
salaatu assalaam) as he wondered how the followers of another Prophet could be
greater than a mighty

Prophet of Allah in receiving Divine Blessings? So he insisted to The Almighty to
grant him, His Mighty Messenger, His Divine Vision (Deedar e Zaat e Illahi)
regardless of the consequences. Almighty Allah granted his request but informed
Prophet Moses (Alehis salaatu assalaam) that it was not possible for him to view
Almighty Allah in His full glory, however, He would grant him his request but under
certain conditions. At an appointed time, one Divine Ray of Light (Zaati Tajjalli) of
His Magnificent Entity, cloaked in seventy thousand veils, would be cast on a
designated mountain (Koh e Tur). Prophet Moses (Alehis salaatu assalaam) was
instructed to keep his gaze fixed only on the mountain (Koh e Tur) and not the
Divine Ray of Light (Tajjalli). If Prophet Moses (Alehis salaatu assalaam) could
withstand the sight the Divine Ray of Light (Tajjali) then, in the future, it was
possible that he would be able to witness His Divine Vision (Deedar e Zaat e Illahi).
At the prescribed time, the Divine Ray of Light (Tajjalli) was caste on the mountain
(Koh e Tur) which instantly became a pile of ashes; the forty followers of Prophet
Moses, who were waiting at the base of the mountain (Koh e Tur) were burnt alive;
and Prophet Moses (Alehis salaatu assalaam) not being able to bear the enormity of
the event, fainted and remained unconscious for forty days. After regaining
consciousness, Prophet Moses (Alehis salaatu assalaam) gathered his thoughts and
concluded that it was better to be amongst the followers of that Beloved Prophet of
Almighty Allah who would be able to do what he, a mighty Messenger of Almighty
Allah was not able to do. And so he humbly prayed to Almighty Allah to make him
amongst the followers of that Beloved Prophet of Almighty Allah. The answer he
received from Almighty Allah was,”O Moses, this prayer of yours cannot be
granted.”

Conversely, on the Night of Ascension (Meeraj Shareef), when The Most Beloved of
Almighty Allah, the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alehi Wa Aalehi Wassullum) arrived at
the door of The Glorious Throne of Almighty Allah, he proceeded to take his sandals
off, but Almighty Allah says, “O My Beloved Prophet (Sallallahu Alehi Wa Aalehi
Wassullum) come in with your sandals on”. The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alehi Wa
Aalehi Wassullum) said, “Ra Aini Rabbi, Ba Aini Rabbi” meaning, “I saw Almighty
Allah with His Eyes”. He described his proximity with Almighty Allah as the distance
of two bow lengths. Before, during, and after the Vision of Almighty Allah, the Holy
Prophet (Sallallahu Alehi Wa Aalehi Wassullum) was in complete possession of all of
his senses.

2
One cannot help but notice the stark differences in these two events: Prophet Moses
(Alehis salaatu assalaam) not being able to bear the sight of just a single Ray of
Divine

e Illahi
Light whereas The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alehi Wa Aalehi Wassullum) stands
directly in front of The Almighty and remains smiling. Prophet Moses (Alehis salaatu
assalaam) is commanded to take off his shoes for he has arrived upon holy ground;
the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alehi Wa Aalehi Wassullum) is told, “O My Beloved
Prophet come in with your sandals on”.

After reviewing the above, the question that arises in one’s mind is why so stark a
difference between the reactions of these two Mighty and Beloved of Almighty
Allah’s Prophets? The answer lies in the following explanation: each Prophet has
been granted a Kalima, which is mandatory for his followers (Ummati) to recite and
believe in (recitation with confirmation from the heart) in order to qualify as a true
follower of that Prophet, and it is also the key to the gates of heaven for that
Prophet’s followers (Ummat). The seven Kalima for those Prophets of Almighty Allah
from Prophet Adam to The Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alehi Wa Aalehi
Wassullum) are as follows in chronological order:

Prophet Adam’s (AS) Kalima - La Illaha Illallahu Adamu Safiyullah

Prophet Noah’s (AS) Kalima - La Illaha Illallahu Nuhhun Najjiyullah

Prophet Abraham’s (AS) Kalima - La Illaha Illallahu Ibrahima Khaleelullah

Prophet Ismael’s (AS) Kalima - La Illaha Illallahu Ismaela Zabiyullah

Prophet Moses’s (AS) Kalima - La Illaha Illallahu Musa Kaleemullah

3
Prophet David’s (AS) Kalima - La Illaha Illallahu Daoodu
Khaleefatullah

Prophet Jesus’s (AS) Kalima - La Illaha Illallahu Eesaa Roohullah

Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) - La Illaha Illallahu

Muhammadurrasoolullah (SAWW)

e Illahi
All of the other Prophet’s not mentioned above would recite one of the above
Kalimas and this would in turn be mandatory for their followers (Ummat). Just like
the Kalima, each Prophet and his followers (Ummat) were also granted one of the
99 attributive Names of Almighty Allah (Sifaati Ism), which was meant to be invoked
during the Rememberance of Allah ( Zikr e Illahi). The subsequent Divine Blessings
(Noor – also known as Divine Energy or Lights) generated as a result of the
Rememberance of Allah ( Zikr e Illahi) would be directly related to that attributive
Divine Name (Sifaati Ism) and this Noor would be the source for spiritual
development for that Prophet and his followers (Ummat). Some examples are as
follows:

Prophet Jesus (AS) was granted Ya Qudooso (Ism e Sifaat)

Prophet Soloman(AS) was granted Ya Wahaabo (Ism e Sifaat)

Prophet David (AS) was granted Ya Wadoodo (Ism e Sifaat)

Prophet Moses (AS) was granted Ya Rahmano (Ism e Sifaat)

Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) was granted Allah Hu (Ism e Zaat)

Prophet Moses (Alehis salaatu assalaam) and hence his followers (Ummat) used to
engage in the Zikr (Rememberance) of Ya Rahmano (O Most Benevolent) which is
an attributive quality of the Almighty. The Divine Energy (Noor) produced as a result
of its Rememberance (Zikr) is also attributive (Sifaati) in nature and this was the
Divine Energy (Noor) present in Prophet Moses (Alehis salaatu assalaam) and his

4
followers (Ummat). That is why Prophet Moses (Alehis salaatu assalaam) was unable
to endure the force or splendor of just one single cloaked Divine Ray of Light (Zaat i
Tajjalli) as it fell on Koh e Tur.

The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alehi Wa Aalehi Wassullum) was granted the Divine
Personal Name (Ism e Zaat) of the Almighty and that is why he and his followers
(Ummat) engage in the Rememberance (Zikr) of the Divine Personal Name (Ism e
Zaat Allah Hu) and the Divine Energy (Noor) produced by engaging in this
Rememberance (Zikr) is also directly related to the Divine Person of Almighty Allah
(Zaati) in nature. That is why the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alehi Wa Aalehi
Wassullum) was able go right up to the Divine Throne (Arsh e Moallah) and endure
the splendor of the Divine Vision of Almighty Allah. This is why the Holy Prophet
(Sallallahu Alehi Wa Aalehi Wassullum) has said, “on the Day of Judgment, followers
of a Prophet (Ummat) will be recognized or discerned by the Divine Energy (Noor)
they possess”. Those souls that are sparkling with

the Divine Energy (Noor) because of the Rememberance (Zikr) of Ya Rahmano will
be recognized as the followers of Prophet Moses (Alehis salaatu assalaam); those
souls that are sparkling with the Divine Energy (Noor) because of the
Rememberance (Zikr) of Ya Qudooso will be followers (Ummat) of Prophet Eesaa
(Alehis salaatu assalaam); those souls that are sparkling with the Divine Energy
(Noor) because of the Rememberance (Zikr) of Ya Wahaabo will be followers
(Ummat) of Prophet Solomon (Alehis salaatu assalaam); those souls that are
sparkling with the Divine Energy (Noor) because of the Rememberance (Zikr) of Ya
Wadoodo will be the followers of Prophet David (Alehis salaatu assalaam); those
souls that are sparkling with the Divine Energy (Noor) because of Zikr e Allah Hu will
be the followers (Ummat) of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alehi Wa Aalehi
Wassullum). There will be a vast number of souls that will be black in color because
they will possess no Divine Energy (Noor) and will be classified as Satanic helpers or
followers. Each follower (Ummati) of a Prophet will be recognized by the Divine
Energy (Noor) that their soul is illuminated with, and their worldly account will be
the responsibility of their respective Prophet. Ultimately, each follower (Ummati) will
follow their respective Prophet into heaven. Those souls that opposed their Prophets
and remained oblivious to the Rememberance of Almighty Allah (Zikr), will possess
no Divine Energy (Noor) and they will follow Satan (Iblis or Shaitaan) as they are all
dragged into the Hellfire.

5
It is said that after the Day of Judgment, Almighty Allah will grant His Divine Vision
(Deedar e Allah) to his righteous creation. There is no doubt on this being true and
will happen by the Grace of the Almighty. The inhabitants of Heaven will hear a
voice warning all those who value their existence to evacuate the area many will do
just that (those that possess Sifaati and not Zaati Noor), except for those Divine
Lovers (Aashiq e Illahi) whose souls are illuminated with the Divine Energy (Zaati
Noor) of Almighty Allah, and these are the people that will be granted His Divine
Vision (Deedar e Allah). This is what Almighty Allah means when he says in the
Quran, “He who is blind in this life will be blind in the next life as well”. Simply put,
those that are blessed with His Divine Vision (Deedar e Allah) in this life, will witness
the same in the next life as well, and those that did not witness His Divine Vision
(Deedar e Allah) in this life, will not witness the same in the next either. The single
prerequisite to His Divine Vision (Deedar e Allah) will always be the Personal Divine
Energy (Zaati Noor) that is produced by the Rememberance of His Personal Divine
Name (Ism e Zaat Allah Hu). All of the 98 attributive Names (Sifaati Ism) of Almighty
Allah combined cannot reach the same status and power of the Personal Divine
Name of Almighty Allah. That is why the followers (Ummat) of the Holy Prophet
(Sallallahu Alehi Wa Aalehi Wassullum), who was granted His Divine Personal Name
(Ism

e Illahi
e Zaat Allah Hu) to give to his followers (Ummat), are considered to be the finest of
the followers of any Prophet of Almighty Allah. This is why the Holy Prophet
(Sallallahu Alehi Wa Aalehi Wassullum) has said that even the Mighty Prophets of
Bani Israel will hold in awe the Saints of Ummat Muhammadi (Sallallahu Alehi Wa
Aalehi Wassullum). The greatness of this Ummat is due to the Holy Prophet
(Sallallahu Alehi Wa Aalehi Wassullum) and his bestowing on to his followers
(Ummat) the Divine Personal Name of the Almighty (Ism e Zaat Allah Hu), the
deprivation of which caused some Prophets to beg the Almighty to somehow make
them a follower (Ummati) of our Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alehi Wa Aalehi
Wassullum). Today the state of Ummat e Muhammadi (Sallallahu Alehi Wa Aalehi
Wassullum) is that it is divorced from the Rememberance of Allah (Zikr e Ism e Zaat

6
Allah Hu) - the very reason that it made it the finest and most favored of all the
creation in the sight of Almighty Allah.

All of the other attributive Names of the Almighty (Ism e Sifaat) can be acquired by
one’s sincere persistence and hard work, however, the Divine Personal Name of the
Almighty (Ism e Zaat Allah Hu) can never be acquired, it is always bestowed or
granted and the only person that can bestow this upon someone is a Perfect Master
- Saint (Kaamil Wali e Murshid). Those people that try and acquire the Divine
Personal Name of the Almighty (Ism e Zaat Allah Hu) without the supervision of a
Perfect Saint (Kamil Murshid), end up causing more damage to themselves than
good, such as, some have become insane while others become despondent due to
failure in reaching their desired goals and with this comes loss of hope or
sometimes even disbelief in the Almighty and this takes one into the realm of
infidelity (Kufr). There is no doubt that the Rememberance of the Divine Personal
Name (Zikr e Ism e Zaat Allah Hu) is by its very nature intense (Jalaali), but it is also
the law of nature that in order to obtain pure gold, the raw form is heated at very
high temperatures so that it is cleansed of its impurities and only then do you get
the finest and purest 24 karat gold. After the extreme spiritual heating process
takes place, Almighty Allah pours down the cool rains from his Mercy and those cool
rains are the Zikr of Ism e Muhammad (Sallallahu Alehi Wa Aalehi Wassullum).
Speaking of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alehi Wa Aalehi Wassullum) in the Quran,
the Almighty says, “we did not send thee down but as a mercy to all” and He called
the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alehi Wa Aalehi Wassullum) ‘Mercy on all the Realms’
(Rahmatil Lil Alameen). As a result, Zikr Ism e Muhammad (Sallallahu Alehi Wa
Aalehi Wassullum) is cool and calming (Jamaali) by nature. This Zikr also falls into
the category of “granted or bestowed” and there are two ways of receiving it. The
first being to have it granted by a Perfect Saint (Kamil Murshid) in his lifetime, and
the

Vision of the Divine - Deedar e Zaat

e Illahi
second way is to receive it spiritually from the Tomb of a Perfect Saint of the Higher
Orders (Kamil e Zaat). This second method is considered as The Owaisiya Way.

Without being granted Ism e Zaat Allah Hu by a Perfect Saint, one cannot purify his
inner being(s). Even if you were to continuously recite Kalima Tayyab you would

7
only be considered in the eyes of the Almighty as a muslim, not a true follower
(Ummati). Through the practice of physical prayer and verbal recitation of Kalima
Tayyab or any other Kalima you do become a muslim, however, without the spiritual
cleansing of Ism e Zaat Allah Hu, Divine Energy (Noor) does not enter into ones
heart and until that happens you cannot be considered as one of the ‘faithful’
(Momin). As stated in the Quran, “the Arabs say that they have become of the
‘faithful’, O My Beloved, tell them they have only embraced Islam and become
muslims. They will only be worthy of being considered Momins when ‘faith’ has
entered their hearts.” (Surah Al Hujrat).

All of the Prophets (Ulul Azam Nabi) prayed to the Almighty to make them as
followers of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alehi Wa Aalehi Wassullum) but only four
had their prayers granted. Prophet Jesus (Isa Alehis salaatu assalaam) was
extremely desirous of the Divine Vision of Allah. He was completely enraptured in
Divine Love (ishq e Illahi) all the time and this was not a one sided relationship
either. The Almighty has a profound love for His Prophets too. For His Divine Vision,
Prophet Jesus (Alehis salaatu assalaam) went into the seclusions of a jungle where
he would endlessly weep and suffer in the great pain he felt as a result of his
detachment with the Almighty. His only prayer to the Lord Almighty Allah was for
Him to somehow end this separation from Him. He could not bear it and it seemed
that nothing could satisfy him except for His Divine Vison. One day Almighty Allah
asked Prophet Jesus (Isa Alehis salaatu assalaam), “Oh dear Prophet of Mine, you
truly seek my Divine Vision, yet you forget the fate of Moses for asking the same?”
Prophets have tremendous knowledge out of which history is just one of them, and
upon hearing this, he became frightened, but his Divine Love (Ishq) pushed him on
in his desire for the Divine Vision. Almighty Allah informed Prophet Jesus (Isa Alehis
salaatu assalaam) that he would have to pay an even higher price than Prophet
Moses (Alehis salaatu assalaam) but the Divine Love that burned in each and every
cell and fiber of Prophet Jesus’ (Isa Alehis salaatu assalaam) body cared not for
consequences. Almighty Allah said, “I shall grant this request to you, but there is an
enormous price I demand against it. I suggest that you think wisely and carefully as
I would have you surrender your Prophethood, and bring you down to the level of a
follower (Ummati) of My Belove Prophet” which Prophet Jesus (Isa Alehis salaatu
assalaam) accepted without any hesitation. Almighty Allah then raised Prophet
Jesus

(Isa Alehis salaatu assalaam) in his bodily form to the Heavens only to return at the
time of the Promised One (Imam Mahdi Alehis salaatu assalaam). Imam Mahdi
(Alehis salaatu assalaam) will plant the seed of Ism e Zaat Allah Hu into the heart of
Prophet Jesus (Isa Alehis salaatu assalaam) which will become a towering inferno of
the Divine Blessings of Ism e Zaat Allah Hu and through this process Prophet Jesus
(Isa Alehis salaatu assalaam) will be able to do what Prophet Moses was unable to
do; bear and witness the Majesty and Glory of the Divine Vision of Almighty Allah Hu
Jalle Shanu.

Conclusion:

Just imagine how lucky you are to possess that invaluable blessing (Ism e Zaat Allah
Hu) granted to the followers (Ummat) of our Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alehi Wa
Aalehi Wassullum), a blessing that even the Mightiest Messengers of Almighty Allah
begged and prayed for but only a few were granted. The tragedy is that despite
laying claim to being true followers of the mightiest Messenger of all, our Holy
Prophet Nabi Pak Muhammad ur Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alehi Wa Aalehi Wassullum),
our way of life indicates a complete lack of interest in achieving nearness to
Almighty Allah. We act as if were never granted this blessing from the Almighty. If
this isn’t ironical and tragic what else could be? We conclude with the sincere
prayer to the Almighty Allah Hu Jalle Shaanu, in the name of our Holy Prophet
(Sallallahu Alehi Wa Aalehi Wassullum), in the name of our Master Hazrat Ali al
Murtaza (may Allah be well pleased with him), and in the name of our Peer o
Murshid Hazrat Sayyidena Riaz Ahmad Gohar Shahi Sarkar Pak, to illuminate our
hearts with the Divine Blessings (Noor) of His Sacred Name (Ism e Zaat Allah Hu).
