King Midas was a very good king. All the people were
very happy under his rule. One day, a fairy granted him a wish.
King Midas wished that everything he touched would turn into
gold.
He was very happy.
He became greedy, to turn
everything to gold. However, he could not eat nor drink.
Whatever he touched would turn to gold. When his daugther
came running to hug him, he tried to stop her but it was too
late.
King Midas was so sad that he ran out to the garden and
begged the fairy to take away his golden touch.
Again the
fairy granted his wish. Everything changed back to normal. His
daughter came running into his arms.
He realised that his
daughter was more precious than all the gold in the world.
