The article Ergonomic Analysis, which was written by Vic Zuccarello and published in
the journal Professional Safety, talks about the use of an ergonomic analysis in medical causation
cases that can occur in industries and companies. This article shows how healthcare professionals
have worked analyzing cases that workers claim for injury caused by their jobs. Furthermore, the
author describes in this article how industries have increased their attention to medical causation
in cases of injury and how they have been working to determine the real cause of injuries.
According to the article, the manner have to be prepared to deal with this situation. There are
many ergonomic tools that he can use to the process of analysis of this medical causation, which
can represent safety to industries that deal daily with injury claims (Zuccarello 38).
This is a good article because it shows an important and useful use of Ergonomics in
industries that can represent advantage in the competitive world of manufacturing. This is not a
well-known use for Ergonomics, but this new concept will contribute for manners to deal with
cases of medical causation. This article is directed to whoever works hiring people and deal with
injury claims in hazardous jobs. Furthermore, Ergonomic Analysis is a reliable article because
it is published in a well know magazine. This magazine, Professional Safety, is written by many

professionals who work as Safety Engineers. They use personal experiences to write their articles
with many examples and objective analyzes.

The article A Visual Ergonomics Intervention in Mail Sorting Facilities: Effects on
Eyes, Muscles and Productivity shows a study of how the mailing system can be improved.
This study analyze some of the main reasons that influence the productivity of professionals who
works in mail companies. These reasons were analyzed with the contribution of twenty-seven
people who have to handle daily with lightening conditions, ergonomics operations, and
eyestrain by Ergonomics methods. These methods study how the conditions of eyes, muscles and
productivity of these professionals are after some hours of repetitive effort. This article also
shows some graphics and statistics of which reason is most influential to this job and provides
which improvement can be applied in these companies.
This article is a great example of how Ergonomics can be useful to the improvement of
an activity or a process. It takes some reasons that influence peoples condition in the
development of their activities and analyze them. This study shows improvements that could be
good for the employer and also for the company. Furthermore, the authors used a lot of graphics
and statistics that besides contributes for understanding the subject, make their article more

reliable. Another aspect that makes it more reliable is that it was published in a well-known
Journal web page, Science Direct.
