the Church with the opportunity to extend the various elements of the
Prayer (Praise and adoration, listening to Scripture readings and
Intercession for our various needs). To give you a sense of how long the
meeting might last - last week we prayed together for about half an hour!

"That in all things God may be glorified St. Benedict

Commissioned to preach Gods call to repentance

We recall the scriptural passage in which God created the world and
acknowledged His creation to be very good (Gen.1:31). Indeed, God was pleased
to have created the world but at some point, sin entered the world as a sign of
Gods rejection. Adam and Eve were the first to reject God. As a result of this
rejection, God regretted having made man and His heart grieved (Gen. 6:6). That
was the beginning of the fall of man and woman. There are many instances in the
bible where humans have rebelled against God and that rebellion seems to be
growing bigger. Today, we see the re-enactment of that rejection. However, God
commission His prophet Ezekiel to speak about those scandalous attitudes of
Gods people. Are we going to continue to make God grieve and cause Him much
pain?
In our contemporary times, our attitudes could either encourage or discourage
others. In the second reading, Paul comes to term with his human weakness and
put his trust in God. Like Paul, we can acknowledge our weaknesses and offer
them to God. This means that we reject worldly standards which are by their very
nature novel and tempting and; conform to the teachings of Christ who alone is the
way, the truth and life (John 14:6). When we do this, we can be sure that the
miracle of bringing Gods healing to our world would be possible in our time. May
Gods word dwell in our hearts and bear fruits that will last. Amen.
