Narrative Report on Anti Drug Abuse Campaign

The term drug has now been given a new connotation. It was used originally to mean
medicine. But nowadays it means not only medicine, but also the fatal narcotics that include
cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, marijuana, and many other specifications. All these drugs
have their detrimental effects on the mind and body cells of the addicts. The young generation is
the worst victim of the iniquities of drug addiction.
Drug Addiction is a brain disease. The addict becomes dependent on drug and uses it,
despite having knowledge of its harmful effects on health. It is considered a brain disease
because it changes the structure and functioning of the brain.
Drug addiction can hinder or restrain a person from accomplishing his goals or dreams
in life. It can lead to harming ones body, causing problems in family structure, and contribute to
the delinquency in society.
As an effective preventive education and information program to counter the dangers
and ill effects of drug abuse, the faculty and staff of Bais City Special Science Elementary
School, supervised by the School Manager, implemented a school wide information
dissemination campaign against Drug Addiction.
The campaign aims to raise awareness of the major problems that illicit drugs present to
society and at the same time, remind youths and adults not to make the mistake of
experimenting with drugs.
The anti-drug abuse campaign is designed to provide an open and comfortable
atmosphere for learning by employing simple, practical details regarding the harmful effects of
illegal drugs that are easy for our pupils to comprehend.
The campaign made use of flip charts and video clip presentations which illustrated the
main message which is to always say NO and never experiment with drugs. Bulletin Boards in
every grade level were fashioned in relevance to the event. Anti-Drug Addiction Posters were
also visible on strategic areas inside school to take full advantage of the campaign.

Parents and teachers have the most vital role in eradicating drug abuse since the activities
and behavior of children are most visible to them. The youth should hence be educated as early
as possible, so as to prevent future concerns related to drug addiction.
In conclusion, there is a need to hold an Anti-Drug Abuse Campaign every school year, not
only for the pupils of BCSSES but as well as to the parents and stakeholders. This activity
significantly helps in disseminating vital information against the use of narcotics and illegal
drugs, thus, it should be participated by all sectors of the community.
