NFNVHD NOI NEWBIE STEP BY STEP

Make sure you are running software Boot 1.05 and Bin 1.27F Tested for Echostar 110-118.8-119
Section 1 Getting your IP Address info from your PC
From your computer running NOI.exe which is using the version from "Noi Master Package for NFHD"
Click Windows Start Button.
Click Run.
Insert your cursor into the "Open field" and type "CMD" and click "ENTER"
The COMMAND PROMPT window opens.
Type "IPCONFIG", this displays your current issued IP address from your router's DHCP manger/service.
Under "Windows IP Configuration" heading, look for the IPv4, Gateway and DNS addresses.
The Gateway and DNS addresses are typically the same, this will be your router's home page.
The IPv4 address will be the PC's address.
Your PC's NIC Properties IPv4 DNS server addesses must be manually entered although your PC may be
using DHCP.
For the Preferred DNS server: enter 210.51.47.147.
For the Alternate DNS server: enter your Router's IP address, i.e. 192.168.0.1.

Section 2 Getting to your Router
Click Windows Start Button.
Click Run.
Goto the your home router's home page. Usually a 192.168.(0 or 1 or 2).1 IP address.
Click Windows Start Button and insert your Router's IP i.e. hxxp://192.168.0.1 and hit ENTER.
Goto the router's "LAN settings" and view the DHCP's IP address scope/range of available IP addresses,
(make note of what number it stops at). i.e. 192.168.0.100 - 192.168.0.200.
The range of IP addresses should not be used as it is possible for the DHCP Manager to issue any number
in that range at some point and you may get IP Conflicts however unlikely.

Section 3 Configuring NFNVHD IP settings
You have to program your NFNVHD Box with a static IP address and point the IP Gateway of the
NFNVHD towards the PC running NOI and not the gateway of your router, unlike the NOVA Box.
Select the "MENU"option from your NFNVHD remote, select "SYSTEM SETTINGS", select "NETWORK
SETTINGS".
Change the option from DHCP to STATIC if necessary.
Now using the remote manually enter the NFNVHD Box IP address. i.e. 192.168.0.201

(which is the first IP address, outside the range of IP's issued by your router's DHCP manager).
Your settings should look like this: Static IP: 192.168.0.201
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.000
Gateway: PC's IPv4 Address not the default IP of the router
Make sure you have also configured the correct time zone and day light savings options under TIME
SETTINGS.
Make sure you have also configured all your local settings under "USER SETTINGS".
It is not necessary however I recommend for best practices, to set TV Standard to "MULTI" under AV
OUTPUT SETTINGS".

Find and Scan your Satellites.
I like to scan in 110 (Freq. = 11250) then 118.8 (Freq. = 10750)and then 119 (Freq. = 11250)
so that they are in order in my SAT List when accessed from the remote.
I typically goto the DISH INFO channels on each satellite to visually verify that I can see a picture and
hear audio, if so I continue.
I pick channel 105 (USA) on SAT 118.8 Anik3. 91-110 channels
I pick channel 301 (HBO2E) on SAT 119 EchoStar 7. 365 channels
I pick channel 341 (ENCORE) on SAT 110 EchoStar 8/10. 310 channels

If you use Bin 1.24F then the Preferred DNS server IP settings on your PC must reflect that of the Bin file

Click Exit.
Navigate to the already openned NOI application.
First you should see "SNOW" on the NOI screen, if so turn off your NFNVHD Box using the Toggle Switch
in the rear of the receiver wait 3 seconds and turn it back on.
The "SNOW" should turn to a count down screen starting from 9 and counting downwards. You should
be now watching TV.
PPV and Sporting EVENTS still do not come in using donation numbers issued by
IKSPRIVATESERVER.COM. All other movie and channels do come in.
This document was designed for testing purposes only.
