South Shields.
George is the son of (Edward) Cornelius and his first wife Eleanor ( D.1904)
who were living in North Shields in 1901. George eventually went to the USA in
1918 and died of TB in the 1940s. The CORNELIUS in the 1911 census is NOT his
father- that was EDWARD from 1891- so Cornelius seems to have been used by
two brothers, 10 years apart !.

Greetings - My email server was out for a few days but now is back Thanks for the Hooper geneology document - Have been looking around other sites for
similar stuff http://www.yasni.co.uk/ext.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.british-genealogy.com%2Fforums
%2Farchive%2Findex.php%2Ft39555.html&name=Thomas+Elston&cat=heritage&showads=1
Here and there people are looking for what seems like the same family members Each seems to follow a different path depending on the family line they came from Muriel is the eldest daughter of E C H and Janet Phillips - She was my aunt http://hoopstorical.blogspot.com/
You can see her on my site - Top right family portrait and down below on Hooper Street
She was married then divorced - Later marrying John Smith and having three children Gwyneth Andrea & Evan She traveled to England and Wales quite a few times - with her mother and kids too I mentioned her daughter Andrea remembers riding in the Hooper Bakery truck in the
1950s She's looking for a picture of the more modern one she rode in - I'll post it if she finds it
The woman that contacted me that was a relative of my grandfather's first wife has sent
me many documents Her name is Yvonne and has been quite helpful - She's on the Ancestry site She sent me passenger lists of my grandmother Hooper and Muriel making the
crossings - sometimes her family - Muriel's daughter Gwyneth went to Wales over the
Christmas holidays - This is one from th 1950s
The Hooper family lived on Topping Ave in the Bronx for awhile at one point I believe they lived originally in Yonkers NY - Then they moved to a farm in Hammonton
NJ where the kids grew up Later returning north to the Bronx NY - then back to Yonkers My father would return to Hammonton over the years to see his best friend while
growing up One year his family and ours took a bungelow at the Jersey shore together - My brother
ended up marrying his daughter You mentioned Muriel's brother "Ted" which was what I always knew him as - But I
found out from Yvonne that his name
was actually George Edward Hooper - as you know from E C H first marriage - Now you
mentioned something else In a couple pics on the site "Ted" is there holding hands with a woman - I never knew
he was married Recently Muriel's daughter gave me a picture that said on the back Ted and his wife Never knew her name But now I can add "Billie" to the description - He died in the 1940s of TB - There was a
TB hospital in Yonkers When the weather gets better I want to go back to the graveyard where E C H and his
wife are buried in Yonkers Maybe Ted is there somewhere too - Yvonne would like to know - If you would like I
could put you two in touch This is a passenger list she sent me with George "Ted" from 1932 - Says he was born in
Newcastle -
Guess they all went back and forth in those days - I make it from New Jersey to New
York and that's about it - Yeeeee
