PHOTO CONTEST REGULATIONS

1. Organization

The first photograph contest it’s organized by the Arts Group and ICT from Colégio
Internacional de Vilamoura.

2. Aims

The aim of this contest is to promote photography and get to know our region, - the Algarve.
For that, in each edition, a different subject will be chosen in order to show Algarve in its
different aspects. Only photos taken in the Algarve will be accepted.

3. Subject

During the school year 2009/2010, the subject for this contest will be:

«The tree in the Algarve region»

4. To participate

All students from Colégio Internacional de Vilamoura can participate. It is forbidden for
members of the jury and of the organization to participate.

5. Deadline

Photos should be sent via email. Entries must be delivered between the 22nd of February and
the 16th April to:

6. How to send the photos

You should read this regulation very carefully as after receiving the pictures, the organization
can not contact any participant before the contest ends.

To assure anonymity, you should use the email below, which you can access with the following
codes:

You should also deliver a closed envelope at the Staff Room, according to the following:

Outside the envelope you should only mention your pseudonym and «Concurso de
Fotografia»

Inside the envelope you must have a paper with the following information:

. full name

. class

. email

This envelope will only be open after the jury has taken a decision

7. Entries

Photos should be sent through email as an appendix and the email’s text should have the
following information: pseudonym; photo’s title; place where photo was taken;

8. Number of photos

Each author may send up to three photos

9. Colour and format

Photos can be black or white or in colour according to the following:

1 in colours and 1 BW; 2 in colours e 1 BW; 2 BW e 1 Colour, A4 size.

10. Responsability

Participants are responsible for the declarations they make as well as for any other
permissions needed for the photos’ exhibition.

11. Reproduction and Manipulation

All entries and contest materials, sent to the Organizer, constitute the property of the
Organizer and will not be returned. By sending the photos, the contestant grants the Organizer
the unrestricted and exclusive rights to use photograph(s) to use, distribute, reproduce and
publicly display without further compensation.

All entries can be altered only as to colour is concerned (to change to black and white) through
a specific computer programme of image edition. 3

12. Jury

The jury will be composed of a professional photographer, Raul Morgado, and by teachers of
Arts and ICT.

The jury’s decisions are final and binding, without appeal for any matter. None of the
complaints will be taken into consideration.

All the issues not foreseen with the present regulations will be decided by the jury.

13. Prizes

There will be prizes for the best three photos:

1st prize: 1 digital camera – 10.1 mp

2nd prize: 1 digital frame 7´

3rd prize: 1 card SD 4GB

Besides these prizes, if the jury so decides, Honourable Mentions Awards

can be awarded.

The jury can also choose not to deliver any prizes, in case the photos in contest do not fulfill
the conditions and quality criteria assumed for this contest.

All contestants will receive a participation certificate.

The photos with prize and all the others decided by the jury, will be exhibited in Galeria Praça
do Mar – Quarteira in a near future

The final results will be communicated till the 1st May, 2010

14. Prizes’ delivery

The prizes’ delivery will take place at the day of the Photos’ Exhibition Opening in Galeria Praça
do Mar. They will be delivered personally by the School’s director, Dr. Renato Costa.

15. Entries lost and/or damaged

The organization is not responsible for entries that are lost, late, delayed, misdirected or
damaged, during the period of selection and exhibition.
