Concrete Kerb Bedding/Bonding and Jointing Mortar

Sika FastFix-1TP is a rapid-hardening, cement-based mortar designed specifically
for bedding, bonding and jointing of concrete kerbs.

Placing Sika FastFix-138TP as a bedding

mortar mixed to a semi-dry consistency. Adjusting
the level of the manhole frame.

Preparing the bedding with Sika FastFix-133TP

and aggregates and then placing the block paviours
(slightly dampened).

Pre-dampen the prepared substrate and spread

the mixed Sika FastFix-1TP onto the surface.

Pouring Sika FastFix-138TP to grout the

manhole cover mixed to a pourable consistency.

At least 24 hours later, fill the joints with freshly

mixed Sika FastFix-133TP. Trowel the material well into the clean, prepared joints.

Place and adjust the kerb to position and level

in the freshly placed mortar. Remove any excess
material and fill the joints with freshly mixed
Sika FastFix-1TP.

Finishing of Sika FastFix-138TP before it

hardens.

Remove any excess material with a plastic scraper.

Before the grouting mortar has hardened, clean the
pavement with a low pressure water jet, taking care
not to blow out the material from the joints.

2 hours later:
open to traffic

After full hardening of the grouting mortar (approximately 24 hours) finish the cleaning process using
high pressure water jetting.
