1-how your academic qualification, personal skills or nay other factors set you apart from

other PhD candidates?

I have the passion to learn and do research in my flied and I am keen to learn each and every
aspect of my field (Entrepreneurship) so that I can contribute positively to the body of
knowledge. Like other PhD candidates my aim is not only to complete the thesis and do the
research to get only degree or good job. I have keen passion to make valuable addition in the
field and do research not only for the sake of research but for the benefit of the audience and
having implications in the field of knowledge that other can get benefit from it in a positive way
and it inspire them to continue to probe the topic further. I am very dedicated and passionate and
put my full effort in any task assigned to me. I have good speaking skills and great level of
confidence. Apart from my personal qualities I have a good academic career and good grades in
my previous classes. PhD in field of Entrepreneurship is my great area of interest as well as I
have a back ground in the management. I have done my MS in management Sciences from
London and teaching Entrepreneurship apart from this I have actually worked as an entrepreneur
too. So my academic back ground and teaching experience as well as my practice experience
also sets me apart from the other candidates.
2- What are the elements of good research proposal? Give a brief proposal of research you
want to do in PhD?
A good proposal is key to carrying out a good research, first of all a brief introduction should be
given which creates the interest in the topic. It should introduce the area of interest in the broader
terms and what the researcher really wants to get from the answers of the research questions; it
should also specify who the audience of research will be. Then the actual problem that the
researcher wants to investigate should be stated properly, a poorly formulated statement of
problem causes the entire research to become of no use. It should be presented in terms that all
people can understand it and a brief context should be provided with it. It should clearly
convince the need to carry out the research. Then the delimitation of specific areas to be
investigated should be done. Then a brief review of literature should be provided that explains
the knowledge about the topic, and where the gap exists. Then the hypothesis or questions of
research are important to state along with the theoretical model of the research study. Then the
type of research design, sampling, data collection methods and analytical methods should be

lined out and it should be explained how the data will be analyzed. In the end the implications
and uses of the research should be explained.
I intend to do research on the topic of entrepreneurship in scenario of Pakistan. With special
focus on the challenges faced by women and the role of government and SMEDA. My research
will gather data from the female entreprenures by means of interviews and questionnaires. Also I
will collect data from the government and SMEDA authorities. This will be a valuable addition
in probing the present situation of Women Entrepreneurship in Pakistan and what are the
solutions that can make it better and enable women entrepreneurs to play active part in
developing the economy of nation as well as make their own living standers better. As it is
identified in international terms that Women entrepreneurs can be great source of development of
economy in developing nations like Pakistan. There is a gap in the profession by gender as more
male are involved in this profession as compared to females. So by investigating this issue this
research will be great deal of knowledge to make the situation better in the field of
entrepreneurship especially for women.
3- How PhD you have chosen will help you in your career? And how you will contribute to
the chosen field of research?
PhD in field of Entrepreneurship will make me better able to peruse my career as a teacher. I will
be better able to teach the students as my knowledge will be enhanced. As a teacher I supervise
the work of many students and after doing PhD, it will be beneficial for me in this regard as I
will be better able to supervise and guide my students on the research topics. PhD will enhance
my skills in research and I will be better able to enable my students to carry out research. It will
enhance my teaching skills as well as it will support my practical experience with research and
theoretical base. PhD will not only be an addition to my academic qualification but also it will
develop my personnel skills of confidence, analyzing, decision making and enhance my
knowledge in the management science and specially entrepreneurship filed. I will be better able
to contribute to the filed by my research work which will benefit the university, entrepreneurs,
students and also the people doing research in the same area of study.
