B. Lesson Background:
Students are learning how to use English in a polite way and ask other people information. They were taught basic
grammatical points such as usage of Could, May, and Can in different situations. They learned greetings and farewell
expressions and answered a worksheet about good manners. They watched and listened to videos in which native
speakers talking about their complains, requests and favors. The previous lesson, class was divided into 8 groups, 4
students each group and each student was assigned to collect words related to the next lesson. They had to look up
the meaning of every new vocabulary. Each group will receive a question in class, the first 15 minutes of class are for
them to exchange their new vocabulary with their teammates to pick up the most appropriate ones which they can
use in their speaking.
Materials:
Projector through which handouts can be projected, or handouts printed onto enough sheets for students to
work in pairs.
White board and markers.
Students will need pencils, notebook, cardboard, markers to make a dialogue.
Packet of sweets.
