Instructions for OFF GRID LOAD ASSESMENT

To find each worksheet, look at the tabs on the bottom left

portion of this Excel file
On the Off Grid Load Assessment worksheet:

* Enter your name in the Customer Name box

* Fill out the orange cells for Quantity and Hrs/Day for the Appliance
categories.

* If you don't have a category, set the Quantity to 0

* You may need to look on the bottom, back or elsewhere of your
appliances to find the Watts info.

* You may need to change the Watts that are provided on the Off grid

load assessment form by filling in (Specify kilo Watt if different) if your

appliance has a different Wattage.

* If your appliance does not have a Watt rating check for the Voltage

rating and Amp rating and multiply the two values and divide by 1000 to
get the Kilo Watts.

* The formula looks like this : Volts x Amps / 1000 = KiloWatts

* It is important to use your own appliance Watts rating to get the most
accurate system design.

The program will automatically transfer the values of the Load

* assessment to the Auto System Design.

On the Auto System Design worksheet:

Use the drop down list to choose if you are using batteries or an inverter (This will be set to "

Select a voltage form the drop down list under "DC System Voltage"

Select the size panel that you would like to use from the drop down list
in the PV Array section

Insert the days you would like to have your system run without sun
under the Battery bank section in the Days of energy storage block

Select the size battery you would like to use from the drop down list in
the battery amp-hr rating

The Nr of panels required will be under "Full array would be"

The Nr of batteries would be under "Purposed nr of batteries"

On the Wire Size Calculator

System Voltage will be selected automatically

Insert the length of your cable from panel to regulator

Use the Custom Amps through cable to calculate specific cable sizes.

Use the Custom System Voltage to calculate specific cable sizes.

PLEASE REFER TO THE INSTRUCTIONS ON OUR WEBSITE TO CALC

(This will be set to "Yes" by default.)
