Introduction

At the beginning of the class we introduce ourselves. We inform


the students about the subject to be taught and we also introduce
them with the objectives they are to achieve by the end of the
class.

Warm-up activity

The pupils are divided in three groups. Each row is a group.


They are supposed to do a Colour Race. The teacher says a
colour. The first group to show an object of the correct colour
gets a point. The first group to collect 5 points is the winner.

Handouts for
individual work

Flashcards of the sea animals are attached to the board. The


children are asked to name the animal they see (What is this?,
Its a fish.). The cards are attached at the top of the board so that
all the pupils can see them.
The song We are happy under the sea is to be played twice.
The first time, the children listen to the song and since they have
already learnt it, they sing it at the same time. The second time
they have to focus on the parts of the song in which a color is
being mentioned. The teacher is to stop the recording and ask
the students to show something that is purple, orange, blue or
pink, depending on the color they hear.
The children are given handouts in the form of a coloring page.
They are asked to find an animal a teacher says and circle it.
While one of the teachers dictates, the other monitors the
children to make sure that all of them are doing the exercise
properly and to check whether some of them need help. Next,
they are asked to color the animals in the color that is said by the
teacher. The activity is finished by asking whether there is
something they did not manage to do.

A cover map is placed on the board. It consists of a circle


divided into four parts colored in the four colors they are
supposed to revise. Next to it, a paper bag is attached which
contains paper sea animals. A child has to get to the board, pull
out an animal and say which animal it is and then to say which
color it is. On doing this, he/ she is supposed to glue the animal
to the part of the color circle to which it belongs.
For the end of the class, a game Shopping bag is prepared.
They are divided into six groups. The desk is going to be
prepared to look like a stand and two pupils from the group are
coming to the stand. One of them is the seller and the other is
the buyer. Buyer says: Two shells, please, and the seller gives
him/her what he/she asks for (fish, crab, shell, and starfish).
They are given worksheets in the form of an exercise Connect
the dots. They have to follow the numbers and connect the dots
in order to recognize the animal that is on the paper. After
finishing this, they can say out loud which their animal is.
1.Red light, green light we will bring STOP (red) and GO
(green) signs, and we will explain that when we raise the green
sign, they should stand up and when we raise the red one, they
have to sit down.
2. Eyes color we will ask the children to stand up when they
hear the color of their eyes, e.g. Hello, blue eyes, and the
children with the blue eyes stand up.
