A person without any ambition in life is like a ship without a rudder he no destination.

He does not have any urge to make a start. He reaches now He is tossed about like
a straw in the wind. He achieves nothing in life.
So everyone should have an ambition in life but simply having it is not enough.
Whatever be the ambition, it must be backed up by contain efforts to achieve it. If a
person sets an ambition before him, but does or to achieve it, his ambition is no
more than an idle dream or a pious resole
Different persons have different ambitions the nature of ambition from man to man,
depending upon his family background, upbringing, s status and economic condition,
etc. Thus, some peoples only ambition in is to amass wealth by fair or foul means it
is with this end in view that demand fabulous dowry on the marriages of their sons.
Sometimes, they take to anti-social professions like smuggling to make quick money.
Corfu has struck deep roots in India because of this ambition.
Wealth is not everything in life. Man does not live by bread alone. Ambition of some
other persons is to earn fame so that even after their their name lives on. Thus, we
find people striving to become top! Journalists, educationists, sportsmen, etc. even
though these pursuits may- enable them to earn much wealth.
There are others who want neither wealth nor fame but want to humanity. They
believe that the service of mankind is the service of Mahatma Gandhi and Swami
Vivekanand has laid great stress on alert the sufferings of poor people. Mother
Teresa rendered great service to poor and the destitute people who were in need of
love and care.
Some young boys and girls would like to become film stars. If a pay succeeds in this
profession, it will enable him to earn both wealth and far lead a glamorous life.
These days, a number of persons also wish to go and settle Dow advanced
countries where they can earn more and lead a luxurious life.
As for myself, I want neither wealth nor fame. I do not want to become actor. I have
no liking for politics also because it is said to be the last re a scoundrel.
My ambition in life is to become a teacher. There are a number of reasons for my
choice. First, about 35 per cent of the people in India are illiterate. They are steeped
in ignorance. They are governed by superstitions. By becoming a teacher, I will be
able to remove illiteracy, ignorance and superstitions to some extent.

Secondly, though the teachers of our country are ill-paid, yet it is one of the noblest
professions. This profession will enable me to translate into my life the Gandhian
principle of simple living and high thinking.
Thirdly, this profession will enable me to serve the cause of education. According to
Plato, education is the turning of the inner eye towards light. By adopting the
profession of teaching, I can hope to perform this stupendous task.
Fourthly, the teaching profession calls for a missionary zeal and a sense of
dedication. I possess both these qualities in ample measure. I have an aptitude for
this profession. Therefore, if I join this profession, it will give me job satisfaction. It
will mean the fulfilment of my cherished ambition.
Fifthly, the students of today are the citizens of tomorrow. This profession will enable
me to make my humble contribution in the building of my nation by instilling the spirit
of nationalism and patriotism in my students.
In view of the foregoing reasons, I am convinced that my preference to become a
teacher is a step in the right direction. I will, therefore, spare no effort to achieve this
ambition of my life.

Change of Ambitions in Life

When I was small, I was dreaming to become a president. Later on I decided that I would like to be a
businessman and I would build a big shop where kids would be able to find everything they needed so
as their dreams would come true. My parents were always smiling at me, charmed by my high
ambitions in life. While growing, I started to form more definite picture of my future and was almost
sure that I want to be a diplomat.
When I turned twenty and started to work at a company, I clearly new that I would love to be a senior
manager and would like to have accelerated professional development and have international
career. I had very high ambitions that are so much loved by HR and line managers. Time was
passing and I started to catch myself on the thought that I started to re-evaluate my personal values
and my ambitions had different pace. I am a manager and I have some potential to grow further, but I
do not dream any more to fly that high in the career development.
For better or for worse, my major ambition became spending time in the family circle. Is it some kind
of digression in my ambitions? I even started to be afraid of this change and this decreasing level of
professional ambition in my life. I had this doubt until one day when I came home and saw my son
making his first steps and I was there to see them. One can say that I lost my ambitions, but I am
sure that my ambitions are sky high and I target as much as a happy family life with people whom I
love most in my life. It is important to remember that we work to live and our life is, hopefully, our
family! Why settle for less?
