PAUL DAVID POPE, SON OF NATIONAL ENQUIRER FOUNDER GENEROSO POPE, JR.,
REQUESTS MOTION FOR MODIFICATION OF 2013 INJUNCTION OBTAINED BY MOTHER,
LOIS POPE
Real life, made for television tragedy of a wealthy and high-profile family torn apart by money and power
PALM BEACH, FL (June 17, 2015) Paul David Pope, son of National Enquirer founder Generoso Pope, Jr., has requested
modification of the 2013 Final Judgement of Protection Against Stalking injunction obtained by his mother, Lois Pope, allowing
him to exercise his constitutional right to possess a firearm. The motion for modification was filed in the Palm Beach County
Circuit Court; therefore all information pertaining to this case is now public record.
Michael Pike, of Pike and Lustig, LLP in West Palm Beach, said he "intends to unearth the truth behind the issuance of the
warrant for Mr. Pope's arrest and do whatever it takes to restore Pope's constitutional rights." "Pope has had no other troubles
with the law," said Pike.
Under the Second Amendment, I have a constitutional right to bear arms to protect myself and my family just like any other
American citizen, states Paul. We intend to prove that the arrest was wrongful and not predicated on anything other than
hearsay.

Sadly, the history and background of this action could easily be mistaken for an article in the National Enquirer. It is a real life,
made for television tragedy of a wealthy and high-profile family torn apart by money and power. Since the death of his father,
Paul and his mother have endured years of legal battles, with each party having been actively and aggressively engaged in
ongoing litigation with the constant underlying theme of money; it has never been threats of physical violence or bodily harm.
The injunction was obtained following Pauls investigation of discrepancies concerning the assets of his fathers estate and
various family secrets in preparation of his upcoming tell-all book, Confessions (his first book, The Deeds of My Fathers, is
now in development with Fox 21 Television Studios). Ultimately, this led to his wrongful arrest, which has never been
substantiated to this very day. Specifically, Paul was in contact with Wall Street mogul Peter Peterson, a former financial
advisor to Generoso (reference the attached injunction document for further detail), in an effort to gather family and business
information and documents for inclusion in Pauls archive of family history known as the Pope Media Center. Although his
mother had freely and willingly given Paul recorded interviews for use in the book, she attempted to withdraw her permission
for release of the information and wanted to stop the book and the disclosure of Pope family secrets. Paul was arrested for
stalking and his mother filed a Petition for Injunction against Stalking, which indefinitely forbade him from use or possession of
a firearm or ammunition.
Paul remains concerned that a Kidnapping and Ransom Policy of Insurance was issued or applied for in connection with his
children. Therefore, part of the requested modification is to allow him to maintain a firearm for protection just like any other
American Citizen is permitted to do under the U.S. Constitution. It has been exactly two years since the harassment
accusation and there have been no allegations whatsoever that Paul is in violation of the Injunction or has since harassed his
mother. It is time to amend the injunction and allow Paul to exercise his constitutionally protected right to bear arms. Money
and power should not and will not take precedence over an American Citizens Constitutional Rights.
