I. CONCEPT NOTES
Also commonly referred to as being fit, it is the foundation of physical activities.
Fitness tests are designed to evaluate and to give learners awareness about the status of the
students health. An example of such is the Physical Fitness Test Battery which should be
administered twice at the beginning of and once at the end of the school year. The results of the
initial tests are used as basis for providing learners a set of physical training to develop a
physically fit individual.
Have you seen any of Pacquiaos boxing bout? Do you think you have the kind of
stamina that Pacquiao displayed? Athletes require a different set of physical components to
perform various tasks. These components are called skill-related components.
Skill related fitness comprises of components such as agility, balance, coordination,
power, speed, and reaction time. Skill related fitness is the ability to perform efficiently in sports,
daily activities, and work-related activities.
