CODE OF ETHICS
PREAMBLE
This section talks about teachers as licensed, dignified and reputed professionals that have
high values and professional competence. They are set to adhere ethical and moral principles in
the field of practice.
ARTICLE 1
SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS
This code applies for all teaching and non teaching personnels in all schools, in all levels,
public and private, and all education aspects in the entire Philippines.
Teachers should offer quality education for all Filipinos.
Visionary teachers who are competent and committed to full realization of potentials.
ARTICLE II
THE TEACHER AND THE STATE
I learned that teachers are obliged in transmitting the learners about the cultural heritage
and values as well in help carrying out declared policies of the state.
Teachers should be mentally, physically and morally fit and committed and devoted to each of
his/her duties.
That teachers, are not and will not participate in promotion of any religious, political and
partisan party. Hence are not allowed to ask, require and receive any valuable material from
any person.
Teachers shall vote and exercise constitutional rights and errands. I did understand that
teachers shall not use force and authority to coerce any person to follow any political action.
Moreover teachers are to enjoy academic freedom, the privilege of sharing research of course it
should be in line with the states policies and drawn proper remedial act.
ARTICLE III
THE TEACHER AND THE COMMUNITY
Teachers will act as facilitator of learning shall boost the opportunities of the youth in
developing

community

responsibilities

through

installation

of

civic,

economic,

social

trainings/exposure and leadership that is conducive to growth, learning and for betterment.

Furthermore teachers should act in a rightful way as dignified and honorable models in the
community.
In this sense teachers must establish healthy relationships in the community and a
multicultural competent educator having favorable attitude that prevents disparaging the
community.

Also I learned that every teacher is an intellectual leader, has a freedom to attend church,
proactive in helping the needs of the people.
Lastly to be well grounded in the aspects of mutual respect to the community officials,
government and other fellow professionals

ARTICLE IV
THE TEACHER AND THE PROFESSION
Every teacher must maintain enthusiasm in teaching; adhere to the highest standards of
teaching, and makes teaching a noble profession.
Teachers shall continue the pursuit of studies through CPE, and shall be at his/her best in
teaching at all times.
In my understanding teachers shall seek lifelong process of learning to improve efficiency,
virtues in becoming nationally and internationally competitive.
Responsible in representing the school in a positive way and will utilize the profession in a
manner that is dignified means for earning an upright livelihood.

ARTICLE V
THE TEACHER AND THE TEACHING COMMUNITY
Every teacher is a loyal one in words, in thoughts and in deeds possesses confidence.
Teachers shall support one another and organize and leave to successor records and other data
to carry on the work when leaving, shall hold confidential information and submit to proper
authorities if any issues and concern may rise.
Teachers can apply for any vacant item in which he or she may be qualified in provision of
respecting the system and basis of merit and all candidates are equal and have opportunity to
be measured.
Teacher is responsible to act as correctives on any associate who seems to appear unethical
and unprofessional and could be done if there is such evidence.

ARTICLE VI

THE TEACHER AND HIGHER AUTHORITIES IN THE PHILIPPINES


Teachers must able to understand and support legitimate policies of the school and the
administration and shall not make false allegations and alleges against superiors.
I learned that teacher shall transact all official business through channels except for valid
reasons and avoid anonymity.
I learned that teachers have right to seek equality against discrimination and injustices.
Lastly, assumes obligation with full knowledge and information on terms and conditions upon
employment.

ARTICLE VII
SCHOOL OFFICIALS, TEACHERS, AND OTHER PERSONNEL
Every teacher must bear proper conduct, helpfulness and should show positive image
towards teaching and non teaching staff. Have cooperative responsibility.
School officials shall give recognition for teacher who have exemplar performance in school
and allow them to participate in conferences.
There is no school that would dismiss a teacher without a cause.
Schools must ensure the credibility of the teachers working if they adhere to civil service
rules, tenure, in accordance to existing laws and especially they are duly registered and
licensed professionals.

ARTICLE VIII
THE TEACHER AND THE LEARNERS
Teachers have right to determine the academic strengths and promotion of learners in all
education aspects, produce evaluations and measurement, take needed action in any case of
complaint, shall recognize the interest and handle each learner just and impartial.
Teachers should not be prejudice in any circumstances.
Teachers are not allowed to accept favors or gifts from learners and parents any remuneration
from tutorials than what is authorized and their behalf in exchange for requests especially if
undeserved.
Teachers are not allowed to use corporal punishments and mutual attraction should be
neutralize and maintain utmost professional discretion to avoid scandals.
Additionally, shall contribute to the maximum development of learners in preventing or
solving learners difficulties.

ARTICLE IX
THE TEACHER AND PARENTS
I understand that teachers must establish cordial relationships and merit respect and
confidence to parents. Moreover, shall hear from parents complaints with sympathy and
understanding.
I learned that teachers have duties to inform parents and authorized personnels regarding
the learners deficiencies and cooperation for proper guidance and improvement of learners.
ARTICLE X
THE TEACHER
A teacher has right to generate income directly or otherwise provided that it cannot affect
his/her work as a teacher. Also, he/she shall maintain good reputation respecting financial
matters in settling debts, loans and other affairs.
No teacher shall act as agent or financially interested in selling textbooks and do so only if it
is deemed in accordance with existing regulations.

ARTICLE XI
THE TEACHER AS A PERSON
A teacher shall live with dignity at all times by instilling self-respect and self-discipline as
standard of professional behavior in all relationships through serving as a model worthy of
emulation by learners and pears. Lastly to recognize the Almighty God in all of his/her
endeavors.
ARTICLE XII
DISCIPLINARY ACTION
Any violation of teachers shall result to grounds and disciplinary measures such as
suspension, cancellation and revocation of practice and his/her certificate of registration and
license as Professional Teacher under Sec III, Article or R.A No.7836 and under rule 31, Article
III, of the RRI R.A. No.7836

ARTICLE XIII
EFFECTIVITY
This code shall be approved by the PRC and would take effect 60 days following its
publication of general circulation, whichever is earlier.
