4.5 Crane jacking

4.5.1 Assembling the telescoping cage
General notes
- The telescoping assembly consists of main parts remaining on the crane and of a
certain number of accessories used during telescoping only.
- For fitting the telescoping assembly ,two cases are possible:
- Fitting of the complete assembly during normal erection of the crane.
- Partial fitting for increase in height.

4.5.2 Balancing for telescoping

4.5.2.1 General notes
- The balacing for jacking should do as two steps
- Hanging weight by a certain radius in theory.
- Adjusting the position of one or two trolleyspractically in actual.
We remind again: When the jacking system has jacked or jacking,
Prohibit slewing the jib
Prohibit moving the trolley
Prohibit hanging weights(raise or lower)

4.5.2.2 Special rules

The working of jacking system is good(oil cylinder and frame), require the barycenter of
thejacked part locates on the centreline of the oil cylinder. Before balancing, should guarantee
one mast locates on the monorail trolley.
Drive the trolley with a proper weight to the given balancing position in relative tower crane
instruction table, the given distance in the table is theoretical, this distance depends on the
actual weight of the counter weight, should gurantee ballast weight and the length of the counter
jib and jib are suitable.
Besides, the wind speed is a assignable factor of the tower crane balancing, not allow to
jack when the wind speed exceeds 60km/hour.
4.5.2.3 Banlancing
4.5.2.3.1 Preparation
- Hang one mast on the monorail trolley.
- Pin the jacking frame in the slewing ring support or connecting sections.
- Drive the load or no-load trolley to balancing theoretical distance.
- Pull the pin of the mast connecting with the slewing ring support or connecting sections.
4.5.2.3.2 Banlancing
- Only when the supporter of the slewing ring support(1) pulls out from the mast fishplate(2),
then can balance.
- Operate the hydraulic station handle as raise direction, jack until the the slewing ring
support pulls out from the mast fishplate.
- Check the balancing extent of the tower crane, get perfect balancing by moving the trolley.
- By checking the centring angle of the support supporter, and mast fishplate and check
hydraulic station to get the required min. pressure surface and confirm the best position of
balancing.
- Can tie a cloth on the jib chord and mark out the trolley position on the trolley under the best
balancing. Should consider this mark, change as different jib lengths, so can be easy to change
best.

4.5.3 Jacking steps

4.5.3.1 perface
The whole jacking working should do on the path of the jacking frame.
4.5.3.2 Principle
The jacking is done circularly as the following ways:
- Raise the jacked parts by throwing out the oil cylinder on the cross beam(1).
- Put the jacked parts on the step (2) with the help of the frame clombing claw(3).
- Pull the safety locked block (4) of the connecting clombing claw(5) and step(6).
- Loosen the cross beam components of the clombing claw, make it leave out the step, then
raise it again by drawing back the oil cylinder.

Page 15

- Put the whole on a set of steps(7).

- Repeat the above operations three times in order to get the enough distance to indraught a
mast into the frame.
- At this time the tower crane locates position A.
- The first travelling distance is about 0.70m.

4.5.3.3 Mast indraughting

- Locate the jacked parts on the upper step of the mast(1), via frame climbing claw(2), this
mast composes the tower body. At this time the oil cylinder throws out completely.
- Push the mast until into the frame, see figure A.
- Operate the hydraulic station as raise direction to make the climbing claw separate from
the step(1), and make the the climbing claw leave the tower body with the help of operating
handle.

- Operate the hydraulic station as lower direction to make the mast (4) insert into the
fishplate(5), fix the mast by pins and cotter pin as the detailed figure B. Lift the ladder
connecting on (6) and insert its supporter into the lower mast ladder.
- Loosen the bolts of the monorail trolley on the four connecting points of the mast(8), push
the trolley out the frame.

4.5.3.4 Put the second mast on the single track

- Only when the jacked parts fix on the slewing ring support, can lift the mast on the single
track.
- Therefore, operate the hydraulic station as lower direction until the support supportor insert
into the fixed mast fishplate.
- Put four safety bolts on pin (2).
- If necessary, put down the balancing loading, hang the monorail trolley on the pulley blocks.
- Hang the new mast with access on the monorail trolley(3), and raise to single track (4).
- If necessary, hosit the balancing loading again and balance, loosen the bolt on (2).
- At this time jack again until the tower crane gets the required height.
Note: Put support access in the last jacking mast.
The last mast should fix with the slewing ring support supporter.

4.6 Anchorage fram

4.6.1 D imensions and weights
The dimensions and weights given in the tables on the following pages correspond to:
- The first line of each group indicates the dimensions and the weight of the component
assembled with the parts as they are shown in the drawing.
- The following lines indicate the dimensions and weights of the main parts according to
representation.
- The direction of dimensions L, l and h with respect to the mark concerns the main parts only.
Impotrant : The sum of the weights of the main parts is lower than the weight of the equipped
component because the weight of pins, bolts, small accessories, etc. is not taken into account.

4.6.3 Attach
4.6.3.1 Perface
- Beyond the free standing height of railmounted or static crane, the crane must be connected
either to the ground by anchorage by guy ropes or to the building by rigid anchorages.
- For each utilization of anchorages on cranes with chassis, please consult us.
- The present brochure deals only with the rigid anchorages to the building. For anchorages by
guy ropes please consult our AfterSalesService. In addition, the device is described in
another brochure.
- The mast compositions, the position of the anchorages as well as the loads applied on the
frames are indicated in the chapter 2
4.6.3.2 General rules
Positioning the crane:
When it is a crane on railmounted chassis, move it in its static position, tighten the rail
clamps and disconnect the travelling gear. Consult us in order to know the special conditions for
this installation.
In certain cases it is necessary to telescope an additional mast section so that the anchorage
frame can be fitted.
Important: Under these conditions the crane is no longer normally autonomous, and it is
forbidden to work and to let the crane free out of service.
When telescoping check the perpendicularity of the crane in both planes in order to avoid any
variation of distance between crane tower and building.
Instruction: In oder to ensure good connection between frame and crane tower and to prevent
the mobile wedges (1 ) from falling down, it is essential to turn the pieces carrying the welded
wedges (2) so that the fitting corresponds ( Detail A Figure 1 ).
