Check that the correct size and type of cable glands have been properly and
securely fitted, and that they provide an effective seal against the ingress of
water.

Check that any unused cable entries are effectively plugged and sealed against
ingress of water.

Check that all electrical connections are tight and properly made and that
terminal boxes are clean and dry.

Check that at the terminal box the forruling, terminal numbering and looping are
in accordance with the schematic and wiring diagrams (and the actuator code
card when applicable).

a) the clutch operates easily and correctly for hand operation.
b) operation is smooth and does not require the application of excessive force.
c) The local actuator position indicator operates correctly over the complete
range of travel and that the indication is correct with respect to the actual
valve position in the full open and full closed conditions.

Where an actuator has selectors which may be set according to whether the
valve is to open/close on torque switch or limit switch, check that the selection
has been correctly made in accordance with the schedule and/or the
manufacturer instructions.

Check that where facilities are provided for adjusting the torque switch setting
(within a pre-determined range), that this adjustment is correct with respect to
the schedule and/or manufacturers instructions. Where no specific figures are
given and the adjustment has not been factory set, it is advisable to set the
closing torque at minimum and the opening torque to 10 to 20% above
minimum.
These valves may have to be increased during test runs and/or under service
conditions in order to overcome valve friction or obtain a good shut off under full
flow conditions.

When all checks and tests are completed, ensure that all terminal box lids and
cover plates are refitted with correct gasket in good condition and all fastenings
fitted and secure.

Press the local retract button and check that C.F. Drops out and CR picks up.

With the associated module switched OFF and all supplies isolated, check the
Insulation Resistance (IR) of the local controls, motors (Valve and Blower Motor
from the terminals of the local junction boxes with 500 V Megger and record
results below.

Check that the local/remote selector switch is looked in Local position is UCB.

Check the control supply is available at the A/H Blower module and the
associated control V/V module in the MCC and to the Sequence Panel in the
control room.

Check that at the A/H Blower module and the associated control valve module
the power fuses are pulled out and the module is switched ON.
2.5
At the A/H Control Valve check that the limit switches and Torque Switches are
correctly adjusted, and the valve is in fully closed position.
2.6
Depress the Local start P.B and check that 42 picks up in the blower module.
Also check that CO picks up in the associated steam valve module. Check that
relay RC is picked up and gives an indication.

Decouple the S/B after the 1st reduction gear unit and hand crank the blower.
Check LS1 operates and holds relay 42 and relay RC.

Open the steam valve full manually and check KPO and KMO operate (open).

As soon as the blower traverses its angle of 37 deg (i.o. reaches its oxtreme
position). Check LS2 operates. Check X picks up at the blower module.

Hand crank further to bring the blower to home position. Check that it actuates
LS1 again at home position. Check 42 is dropped off.

Close the valve to full closed position. Check KMZ operates to drop out CC.

Restore all disconnections and replace the power fuses if these were removed

out immediately.
