1. Chairpersons Address
1.1The chairperson, Pn Chong Shia Yian, thanked the teachers for attending
the meeting.
2. Minutes of Previous Meeting
2.1 Minutes was accepted with no amendment.
3. Post Mortem for Examinations
3.1 Form 5 Diagnostic Test
The passing rate for Diagnostic Test has increased by 0.33% from
Intervention Test. But the GP has increased from 5.12 to 6.17. The number of
students getting As has also dropped compared to Intervention Test. Only 26
students managed to get A compared to 58 students in Intervention Test.
Students did not sit for the full set of papers in the Intervention Test.
However, when compared to the ETR, the number of students getting As has
exceeded the targeted number by 6 students. Teachers have to help these 26
students maintain their grade A in English. For the 60 students who have
1

failed, Pn Chong has identified and listed the names of students who have the
potential to pass English. Program HARLUS SPM has begun with Pn Chong,
Pn Sarojini and En Sim giving extra work and guidance to these selected
students. This programme, Program HARLUS SPM has started in August and
will be carried out until November.
3.2 Form 4 Mid-year Examination
As mentioned in the second meeting, the Form 4 monthly test doesnt
reflect the students actual ability because they did not sit for the complete
set of English papers. From the mid-year examination results, 11 students
scored A in the examination and the percentage of students who passed the
examination is 56.99% with the GP at 6.77. Those who scored A are mostly
from 4 Science. According to Pn Sarojini and Dr Ong, most of the students
need to focus more on writing because they are still weak and not able to
express their ideas and expand the notes. They are still not confident to
elaborate when they write. As agreed in the second meeting, teachers will
use the scores from mid-year examination to set their ETR.
3.3 Form 3 Diagnostic Test
In the Form 3 Diagnostic Test, 9 students scored A in their English
paper which is the same number in last Intervention Test. Next, 26 students
scored B and 29 scored C followed by 71 students who get D. The percentage
of passes remains the same as the last examination, at 55.6%. Pn Chong
hopes that students will perform better for their PMR trial examination. Form
3 students have started the Gerak Gempur programme. They will use
materials prepared by PPD. Apart from that, Form 3 teachers also concentrate
on the students with potential to pass in Program HARLUS PMR
3.4 Form 2 Mid-Year Examination
As both Pn Norhapiza and Pn Rohana were absent, post mortem
discussion for Form 2 English results were not carried out.
3.5 Form 1 Mid-Year Examination
The analysis for Form 1 and Remove mid-year examinations were not
given to the Principal. Discussion will be done with the Form 1 and 2 teachers
in a later date.
4. NILAM Programme
The second prize giving ceremony for the NILAM Programme was
carried out last week. Pn Sarojini reminded all the teachers to carry out their
NILAM reading programme until September.

5. Book Checking

Teachers must ensure that they adhere to the number of exercises to

be given to the students as stated in the first meeting. Pn Sarojini again
reminded the teachers to submit their books for the second round of
checking by the last week of September.
6. English Room
Pn Chong requested that all the teachers who use the English Room
should ensure the cleanliness of the room. For the safety of the students,
they must not enter the room without their teachers. Teachers have to make
sure that they wont let the students enter the room without teachers
supervision. Pn Chong also requested help from En Sim to repair the LCD in
the room. All the air conditioners are in good- working condition.
7. Other matter
Pn Yap requested for Peter and Jane books to be used for remove
classes. Pn Chong said that she will bring the books and keep them in Pn
Sarojinis room. These teachers who need the books can take them from
there and return to the same place. Teachers have to record the use of the
books properly.

The meeting was adjourned at 1.05pm
