Research Methodology
To manage an effective supervision of huge number of employees there is no other department
other than Human Resource Department. This department works for the purpose of well
management of Human Resources as well as proper overall monitoring. Resource management
practice and organizational performance both depends on efficient human resource management.
Research strategy, design and availability of data are of prime importance for a successful
research study. This study is all about resource management practice and organizational
performance of three of the leading banks of Bangladesh named Agrani Bank Ltd., Grameen
Bank and Uttara Bank, since this is a comparative study of profitable and non-profitable
government and non-government bank.

2.1 Identify Subsections

The study of methodology includes observation of the work procedure, analysis of the available
information as input forms and their output documents, face-to-face communication and
interviews of Agrani Bank Ltd., Grameen Bank and Uttara Bank officials.

2.2 Participant (Subject) Characteristics

As is mentioned in the previous section that the officials of the three respective banks will
participate and fill in the questionnaire they were provided. People involved with this process
may differ from each other by their perception, experience, interest etc. This clearly indicates
that the outcomes are diverse.

2.3 Sampling Procedures

One representative from each of the three banks is chosen to perform for the study by answering
the provided questionnaire. The selected participants must be a human resource department
official. They are to provide answers based on the human resource practices and organizational
performances of their own banks. The study is conducted analyzing the answers given. This
section is divided into several subsections. The first subsection is all about the sample- its size,
power and precision. The second subsection contains measures and covariates. The next and
third subsection comprises of the design of the research. The last subsection includes any
experimental manipulations or interventions.

2.3.1 Sample Size, Power, and Precision

All the existing banks of Bangladesh combine the population. Among these banks Agrani Bank
Ltd., Grameen Bank and Uttara Bank have been taken for conducting the study. Therefore in this
case, these three banks are considered to be the sample. Again three representatives from each
bank will have to answer relevant questions about their respective banks. The achieved result
from the study might differ from the original result of the whole population since the sample size
is small here.

2.3.2 Measures and Covariates

2.3.3 Research Design

Research design is broadly defined as 'a plan for conducting research which usually includes the
specification of the elements to be examined and the procedures to be used' (Sprouli, 1988).
Thus, the research design is the structure that provides a framework within which data is
collected and analysed (Bryman, 1989; Miller, 1991).
This study is evidently a descriptive study. Since a kind of a survey is done through providing
research questionnaire and acquiring relevant answers, which are eventually used to develop a
descriptive research result. The participants were assigned randomly. No particular selection
mechanism was followed. The study is conducted between the three subjects e.g. banks.

2.3.4 Experimental Manipulations or Interventions

Any kind of interventions or experimental manipulations were not used in this study.
