Say: Sounds have different qualities. We
learn to recognize sounds of woods,
metals, musical instruments, human voice
and many other objects.

We are all aware of the differences discussion attentively.
between noise and musical tones. We are
also aware that musical instruments
produce different qualities of sounds, that
a violin has a different sound quality from
a guitar.

discussion attentively.
We also recognize people by the quality of
their voices. Like for instance, when your
mom trying to call you on the phone, then,
of course she will not say hello this is your
mom, because at the moment you hear
the sound you can easily recognize her as
your mom.

levels.
This quality of tone is also referred to as
tone color.
There are two kinds of timbre, the vocal
and instrumental. However let us focus on
the quality of tone particularly the singing
voice or the human voice.
The tone of the human voice varies in
texture.
Have you heard the voice of Regine
Velasquez and Jaya?
Arent they different?
How did they differ?

Yes sir!

Well said.
When voice parts or the tones of a chord Yes they are!
are closely spaced, the result is thick Regine Velasquez has a thinner

widely spaced, the texture is thin.
To further explain this, I have here a The students listen to their teachers

he or she will have thick voice.
Aside from varying the length of the vocal
cords, having a thinner air passage way
will definitely result a thinner voice. On the
other hand, if the air passageway in the
vocal cord is wider then it will result a
