Presentation Assessment
Trimester 1, 2015
Due: As stated in the following brief
Marks: 10% of Unit Assessment
Objectives
You will prepare a team presentation based on your written assignment the
preliminary business report.
Employers require employees who can communicate clearly with others. The BPM
discipline absolutely demands it too. In this assessment you will develop your ability
to communicate orally in a one-to-many situation in a presentation to peers.
On campus students: Team presentations will take place in Weeks 8-10 of the trimester within the
weekly seminars and assessment will be received immediately following presentations. Presentation
times will be organised with your seminar facilitator.
Off campus students: You will prepare your team presentations in an audio recorded PowerPoint
presentation and then one team representative will upload the finished PowerPoint presentation
file.
Everybody is individually assessed in this process.
To this end you will need to ensure that when you begin your component of the presentation in the
recorded slide show that you clearly announce your name. For example, My name is Ranjit and I
am presenting the next 5 slides. If two, or all of you share the same first names then of course, state
your last names too! If you share first names and last names, then state your names and your
student numbers.
It is also imperative that each team member is clearly named on the first slide (introductory slide)
of your presentation, along with student numbers respectively, for example,
Clint Eastwood:
Tom Cruise:
Cameron Diaz:
Details
The presentation must be based on your teams written report submission. You should prepare the
presentation with a view that your audience is the management team at
Technobuild Pty Ltd, the firm that is the subject of the written assignment, which includes the CEO,
Keith Toms.
Some presentation considerations:
Your team presentation does not need to follow any particular format however, it is always
good form to properly introduce yourself and your presentation (or component of the
presentation), overview your main presentation areas, then move through your presentation
systematically and conclude with (again) a brief overview of that which you have presented,
thanking your audience and offering a brief question time.
You will probably use somewhere between 5 -15 slides
Provide some background/context in your introduction
Define BPM and its importance to strategic success
Present and describe your analysis, solution and its justification
Briefly overview your recommendations
What are the next steps, following the implementation of your recommendations; is there a
recommended next phase?
Getting help
You can obtain help from your seminar facilitator. Your fellow students should also be able to
provide assistance.
Extensive help on using PowerPoint is available under PowerPoints Help menu item.
