in the College) for three years from 1984-85 to 1986-87; Academic Excellence Award in Lady Sri Ram
College for the year 1987.
Indian Philosophical Congress Medal for the year 1989 for best performance in the MA Examination in
Philosophy.
Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Medal in 1989 for being the best candidate in the M.A. Examination in the subjects
English, History and Philosophy.
N.V.Banerjee Prize in 1989 for being the best candidate in the M.A examinations in Philosophy and
Psychology.
N. V. Thandani Memorial Prize in 1989 for being the candidate who secured the highest marks in the

Lectured at the summer Law Programme for the American Law students organized by Toubro College
Law Center at New York, and the South Texas College of Law and Southern University Law Center, at
Shimla between May30th and June 27th 1997.The lecture on Gandhian Philosophy was a part of the
course entitled, `Indian Law and Philosophy`.
Gave a talk on the All India Radio, Shimla.This talk on Gandhian Philosophy was broadcast on 27th June
1997
Gave talks on Women Philosophers in India for the external Services Division of The All India Radio. Talks
on Gargi, Mettika, Mutta, Lopamudra and Visvavara were part of a series of radio talks on women
philosophers in India, broadcast in 1999-2000
Was invited by the Indian Council of Philosophical Research as a panelist to speak on the theme:
Dimensions of Applied Ethics with special Reference to Gender Ethics on 30.4.2001. Presented a
paper on Feminism and Eco-Feminism.
