SUMMARY
Seeking a product development position where years of high-level academic training, international work experience, and expertise
in lean manufacturing, (bio)materials and environmental policy will add value. Innovative problem solver with a natural ability to
clarify complex matters. Great communication skills.

KEYWORDS
product development, lean manufacturing, demand flow technology (DFT), bioplastics, biotechnology, semiconductors, solar cells,
electronic devices, quality control, microwave engineering, environmental regulations, eco-labeling

PROFILE
• Effective team contributor and leader. Has been described by colleagues as assertive, self-motivated and hard-working.
Recognized by supervisor to have vision and “exhibit strength of character under challenging circumstances.”
• Extremely adaptable. Proven track record of success in different fields of study (from engineering to applied physics to polymer
science) and in different regions of the world.
• Eager to learn new technologies. Knowledgeable of forming and characterization techniques for metals, plastics and
semiconductors. Familiar with machining tools, injection molding, extrusion, dielectric measurement equipment, laser systems,
lithography, SEM, TEM, sputtering, CVD, electroplating, rheometry and more.

EXPERIENCE
Engineer Trainee: CEMEF and Schneider Electric SA, Sophia Antipolis, France (2008-2009).
Acting akin to a merchandising consultant, determined whether eco-labeling could satisfy the marketing needs of Schneider
Electric and serve as proof of compliance to various standards and governmental regulations.
• Evaluated the merits and drawbacks of eco-labeling, from message clarity and credibility to the activity’s commercial impact and
legitimate influence on the environment.
• Synchronized the green plastic efforts and environmental initiatives of Schneider Electric with the qualification criteria of
established eco-labeling programs (e.g. the EU Flower, the Blue Angel and Green Seal).
• Recommended suitable eco-labels for Schneider Electric and outlined the methodology for establishing Schneider’s own
eco-labeling scheme.

Graduate Research Assistant: ARL (the Applied Research Laboratory) at Penn State, University Park, PA (2006-2008).
As a member of a cross-disciplinary research team, facilitated the invention of an optically-tunable phased antenna array by
developing an original photoconductive switch for use in microwave circuitry.
• Investigated the feasibility of photoconductive switch designs via electromagnetic simulations.
• Fabricated silicon-based prototype switches in a cleanroom environment and conducted microwave signal attenuation measurements.
• Created a switch that offers improved performance in terms of ratio of attenuation to optical input power when compared to optical
attenuators previously reported upon.
Manufacturing Engineering Intern: Cascade Microtech, Inc., Beaverton, OR (2005).
In the role of project manager, organized the multi-team implementation of DFT (Demand-Flow Technology) on the S300 (300
mm) semiautomatic and manual probing station product lines.
• Altered the production floor layout to improve transport logistics and decrease lead times.
• Instituted the use of a kanban system for raw materials and assemblies to reduce clutter, work-in-progress and inventory.
• Conceptualized and constructed novel material handling solutions.
• Optimized the designs of existing parts for more efficient assembly.
