SCHOLARSHIPS FOR JUNIORS

Adirondack Mountain Club is offering high school students ages 14-17 a 4-5 days outdoor work experience in the Adirondack
Mountains during the 2010 summer season. To apply, write an essay explaining why you wish to participate in one of the trail
projects protecting the earth and its resources no later than April 1, 2010. More information is available in the Counseling Center.

Alexander Hamilton Citizenship Achievement Award is being offered to college bound high school juniors who have a strong
record of community service, strong commitment to academic studies, are self-starters, and show financial and/or personal need. Top
winners receive a $500 cash scholarship. Applications with a deadline of April 16 th are available in the Counseling Center.

Amy Bindelglass Memorial Scholarship – will award $500 to the winner and $200 to the runner-up of this essay contest. Applicants
must be a high school junior or senior who writes a convincing, persuasive essay on the topic of organ transplants. Submissions must
be postmarked by April 15, 2010. More information is available in the Counseling Center.

Clarkson Leadership Awards Program – Clarkson University would like to recognize three members of the junior class, one for the
Clarkson Leadership Award, one for the Clarkson Achievement Award and new this year, one for the Clarkson School Scholars
Award. This new award is for students interested in an early college program replacing their senior year of high school with their first
year of college. Recipients of this award will only get the scholarship if they apply, are accepted, and attend The Clarkson School.
For the Leadership and Achievement awards, juniors must have an academic interest in engineering, business, science, or liberal arts,
have strong leadership qualities, and rank in the top 15% of their class. For these two awards, interested juniors should submit a
resume to the Counseling Center by April 12th. For the new Clarkson School Scholars Award, student must show an interest in an
early college option, be in an accelerated program, rank in the top 15% of their class or have an overall GPA of 93. Students should
submit a resume to the Counseling Center for the School Scholars Award by March 15, 2010.

Design Your Future Day - RPI is extending an invitation to high school junior girls to participate in their annual Design Your
Future Day program on Saturday, April 17, 2010. This program is designed to support the national effort to increase the number of
women pursuing careers in engineering, science, and technology. More information is available in the Counseling Center.
Applications must be received by April 2nd.

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR SENIORS

American Society of Civil Engineers is offering a 4-year $1,000 per year scholarship to graduating seniors seeking to continue their
education with the goal to become a practicing civil engineer. Applications are available in the Counseling Center and are due by
March 29, 2010.

Amy Bindelglass Memorial Scholarship – will award $500 to the winner and $200 to the runner-up of this essay contest. Applicants

Adirondack Mountain Club is offering a $500 scholarship to a local senior who has shown an interest in the preservation and
protection of the environment. He or she should be pursing a college degree in fields such as forestry, marine biology, chemical
engineering, environmental science, etc. More information is available in the Counseling Center. Deadline for essays is April 5,
2010.

CSEA Kenneth J. Plummer Memorial Scholarship – A $500 scholarship to graduating seniors who are children of members of
Shenendehowa Unit 8458. This scholarship is based on academic achievement, as well as involvement in extra curricular activities,
sports, community activities and/or employment. Student must be planning to attend a 2 or 4 year college or university. Applications
are available in the Counseling Center and the deadline is March 15, 2010.

CSEA Local 864 High School Graduation Award – There will be three $500 awards given to graduating seniors who are children
of employees represented by Local 864. Selection will be based on academic record, school activities, outside work, community
service and financial need. Applications are available in the Counseling Center and the deadline is March 18, 2010.
CSEA Region 4 2010 Irving Flaumenbaum Memorial Scholarship- A scholarship to seniors who will then automatically be in the
running for the Pearl Carroll and MetLife Insurance Company Scholarships. This scholarship is being offered to CSEA members’
children. More information and applications are available in the Counseling Center. Deadline to the Counseling Center is March 29,
2010.

Dawn Hobbs-Student Memorial Scholarship –This $500 award will be given to a senior in good academic standing planning to
pursue a degree in Special Education and has volunteered or worked with students with disabilities or for a student with a disability
who is pursuing college or post secondary training. More information and applications are available in the Counseling Center.
Applications must be returned by March 25, 2010.

Elizabeth Campbell Burke Memorial Scholarship - This $500 scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior who intends to
continue his or her education at a 4-year college or university. This award is not designed for the person who comes in first all the
time, but instead to someone who comes in second, third, or fourth, who never asks for anything but the satisfaction of a job well
done. Applications are available in the Counseling Center and must be returned completed by March 12, 2010.

Friends of Music of Shenendehowa is offering two awards; The FOMS Music Award which is a $300 award given to a senior who
has demonstrated a passion for music and The Dusty LaPlante Memorial Music Award which is a $300 award given to a senior who
plans to pursue a career in music. You may only apply for one award. Applications are available in the Counseling Center and must
be returned by March 11, 2010.

Junior League of Albany is offering the $1,000 Rockwell Scholarship Award in memory of Marjorie Doyle Rockwell to female
students who will be applying to college in the Fall and are currently involved in a volunteer organization or activities. More
information is available in the Counseling Center and the deadline is March 15, 2010.

Lawrence Madeiros Scholarship Fund will award a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating high school senior who is applying to or is
currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and has been living with a chronic disorder. Applications are available in the
Counseling Center and must be returned completed by May 10, 2010.

National Association of Women in Construction is offering a $500 scholarship to females planning to pursue a career in a
construction-related field of study. Students must be in their senior year of high school and plan to attend a college or equivalent
program that pertains to a construction related degree program. Applications are available in the Counseling Center and need to be
returned by March 19, 2010.

New York State Association of Agricultural Fairs and New York State Showpeople’s Association is offering six $1000
scholarships to seniors who are pursuing college degrees in an agricultural, fair management, or the outdoor amusement business. .
Applicants must download applications from www.nyfairs.org and submit with two letters of reference, an essay and high school
transcript. More information is available in the Counseling Center. Application deadline to the Counseling Center is March 12, 2010.

New York Water Environment Association, Inc. is offering (2) $1,000 scholarships for seniors who are interested in a degree
program with an environmental emphasis such as, but not limited to, biology, forestry, chemistry, engineering, and water/wastewater
treatment. Applications are available in the Counseling Center and must be returned completed by March 15, 2010.

NYSUT RC 10 is offering a $500 scholarship to a student enrolled in a public school in Saratoga County who wants a career in
education. Applications are available in the Counseling Center and are due back by March 11, 2010.

Rotary Club of Shenendehowa is offering a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior with a good academic standing planning on
attending a vocational school or two or four year college. More information is available in the Counseling Center and applications
need to be returned by March 15, 2010.

Saratoga Hospital Volunteer Guild will award a $1000 scholarship to three area high school seniors who have a cumulative high
school average of 80% or greater, a record of community service and planning to pursue a college program in a health-related field,
for example: pre-med, nursing, pharmacy, X-ray technology, physical therapy, etc. Applications are available in the Counseling
Center and must be returned by March 11, 2010.

Schuylerville Community Theater is offering a scholarship to a deserving graduating high school senior entering an accredited
college in the Fall and majoring in Music, Dance, Drama or Theater Arts. You will be judged by a panel of judges on the
demonstrated talent and skill in your art field, as well as an interview. Applications can be downloaded at www.scttheater.org or can
be picked up in the Counseling Center and must be returned by March 29, 2010.

Tech Valley New York State Women, Inc. is offering a $500 scholarship to a graduating female planning to attend either a 2 or 4
year college. Applications are available in the Counseling Center and must be returned by March 15, 2010.
