“We have such an high priest, who is set on the right

hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; A

minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle,
which the Lord pitched and not man.” Heb. 8:1,2.

After the resurrection of Christ and His ascension into

heaven, He fulfilled in type, the antitype of the
Levitical system of things. Jesus, our Great High
Priest, is now officiating in the heavenly sanctuary
before God, for us.
First of all, the tabernacle and all that we therein; and
Aaron and his sons, were to be anointed before
commencing his ministry.

“Moses took the anointing oil, and anointed the

tabernacle and all that was therein, and sanctified
them.” “And Moses took the anointing oil, and of the
blood which was upon the altar, and sprinkled it upon
Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons,
and upon his sons garments with him; and sanctified
Aaron, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons’
garments with him.” Lev. 8:10:30.

“Still bearing humanity, He (Christ) ascended to

heaven triumphant and victorious. He has taken the
blood of the atonement into the holiest al all,
sprinkled it upon the mercy-seat and His own
garments, and blessed the people. Soon He will
appear a second time to declare that there is no more
sacrifice for sin.” (Heb.9:28). EGW. S.T.,
Apr.19,1905.

“As Aaron’s garments were sprinkled at the time of

the dedication of the sanctuary, so Christ sprinkled
His own garments and the mercy seat. He dedicated
Himself and the sanctuary to the work of redemption.
He had been officially installed into office. He had
been seated at the right hand of God and invested
with all power. (Heb.1:3; Matt.28:18). His blood had
been shed but not yet ministered. - - - As Aaron, after
being sprinkled with blood, began his work in the first
apartment of the sanctuary, so did Christ.

“On Christ’s ascension to heaven an inauguration

took place. The Father set His seal of approval upon
Christ’s work – installed Him as High Priest and
seated Him at His right hand.” The right hand being
a symbol of power and authority. Sanctuary
Service, p.235,236.
In the year of 1844, Christ had completed His ministry
in the first apartment and closed the door, and
entered into the second apartment, the most holy
place of the heavenly sanctuary to commence the
investigative judgment.

E.W. p.42.

“And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven,

having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them
that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and
kindred, and tongue, and people. Saying with a loud
voice, ‘fear God, and give glory to Him; for THE HOUR
OF HIS JUDGMENT IS COME: and worship him that
made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the
fountains of waters.” Rev.14:6,7.

“I beheld till thrones were cast down, (set in place)

and the Ancient of Days did sit, whose garment was
white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure
wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his
wheels as burning fire.
“A fiery stream issued and came forth from before
him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and
ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him:
the judgement was set and the books were opened.”
Dan.7:9,10,13,14.

“I saw the Father rise from the throne, and in a

flaming chariot go into the holy of holies within the
veil, and sit down. Then Jesus rose up from the
throne. ---- A cloudy chariot, with wheels like flaming
fire, surrounded by angels, came to where Jesus was.
He stepped into the chariot and was borne to the
holiest, where the Father sat. There I beheld Jesus, a
great High Priest, standing before the Father.” E.W.
p.55.
“The priest ministered in both apartments of the
earthly” sanctuary. “He went daily into the first
apartment, but entered the most holy only once a
year, to cleanse it from the sins which had been
conveyed there. I saw that Jesus ministered in both
apartments of the heavenly sanctuary. The priests
entered into the earthly with the blood of an animal
as an offering for sin. Christ entered into the
heavenly sanctuary by the offering of His own blood.”

E.W. p.253.

The ‘thousand thousands and ten thousand times ten

thousand’ of Dan.7:10, are the angels which minister
before the throne of God.

“And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels

spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.” “Are they
not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for
them who shall be heirs of salvation.” Heb.1:7,14.

‘AND THE BOOKS WERE OPENED.’

1. The Book of Life – Rev.20:12. Luke 10:20;
Rev.3:5.
2. The Book of Remembrance – Mal.3:16;
Neh.13:14.
3. The Record of Sins – Eccl.12:13; 1 Cor.4:5.

“The books are opened – the book of life and the book
of death. The book of life contains the good deeds of
the saints; and the book of death contains the evil
deeds of the wicked. These books are compared with
the statute book, the Bible, and according to that
men are judged.” E.W. p.52.

THE STANDARD OF THE JUDGMENT.

“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear
God, and keep his commandments: for this is the
whole duty of man.” “For whosoever shall keep the
whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of
all.”
Eccl.12:13; James 2:10;(v.11,12)

“Not every one that saith unto me Lord, Lord, shall

enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth
the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will
say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not
prophesied in thy name? and in they name have cast
out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful
works? And then will I profess unto them, I never
knew you: depart from me ye that work iniquity.”
Matt.7:21-23.

“And there shall in no wise enter into it (heaven) any

thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh
abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are
written in the Lamb’s book of life.” Rev.21:27.

“But I say unto you, that every idle word that men
shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day
of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified,
and by they words thou shalt be condemned.”
Matt.12:36,37.

WHO IS JUDGE?

“For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed

all judgment unto the Son.” John 5:22.

“God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ.”

Rom.2:16.

“Because he hath appointed a day, in which he will

judge the world in righteousness by that man whom
he hath ordained; whereof he bath given assurance
unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the
dead.” Acts17:31

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of

Christ; that every one may receive the things done in
his body, according to that he hath done, whether it
be good or bad.” 2 Cor.5:10.

WHO IS OUR LAWYER IN COURT?

“My little children, these things write I unto you, that

ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate
with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.”

1 John 2:1.

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we

have fellowship one with another, and the blood of
Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” 1John
1:7.

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God

and men, the man Christ Jesus.” 1 Tim.2:5.

“God is approached through Jesus Christ, the

Mediator, the only way through which He forgives
sins. - - - There are no sins He will not forgive in and
through the Lord Jesus Christ. - - - Through the blood
of Christ alone is forgiveness of sins;

“Our great High Priest completed the sacrificial

offering of Himself when He suffered without the
gate. Then a perfect atonement was made for the
sins of the people. Jesus is our advocate, our High
Priest, our Intercessor. - - - Type met antitype in the
death of Christ, the Lamb slain for the sins of the
world. The great High PRIEST HAS MADE THE ONLY
SACRIFICE THAT WILL BE OF ANY VALUE.” E.G.W.
BC7a, p.357.
“I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions
for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sin.”
“As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he
removed our transgressions from us.” Isa.43:25;
Ps.103:12.

“As one by one these names are read, the Savior

holds up His hands, still bearing the imprints of the
nails of Calvary, and He cries, “My blood, Father, My
blood, My blood.” Above His throne is the rain bow;
mercy and justice mingle there. God’s heart is
touched by the pleadings of His Son, and pardon is
written opposite the name.”. Daniel the Prophet,
p.101.

“Shall not our hearts swell with gratitude to Him who

gave Jesus to be the propitiation for our sins? Think
deeply upon the love the Father has manifested in our
behalf, the love that He has expressed for us. We
cannot measure this love. Measurement there is
none. We can only point to calvary, to the Lamb slain
from the foundation of the world. It Is An infinite
sacrifice.” E.G.W. BC.7A, P.538.

WHO ARE JUDGED?

“God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for

there is a time there for every purpose and for every
work.” Eccl.3:17.

“In the great day of final atonement and investigative

judgment the only cases considered are those of the
professed people of God. The judgment of the wicked
is a distinct and separate work, and takes place at a
later period.”
Great
Controversy p.480.
“For the time is come that judgment must begin at
the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall
the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?”
1 Pet.4:17.

“Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the

judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the
righteous.” Ps.1:5.

“The saints shall judge the world.” 1 Cor.6:2.

“And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on

it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled
away; and there was found no place for them.
“And I saw the dead small and great, stand before
God; and the books were opened; and another book
was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead
were judged out of these things which were written in
the books, according to their works.
“And whosoever was not found written in the book of
life was cast into the lake of fire.” Rev.21:11,12,15.

“Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his

saints, to execute judgment upon all, and to convince
all of their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly
committed, and of all their hard speeches which
ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” Jude
14,15.

“Daniel declares that when the Ancient of Days came,

“Judgment was given to the saints of the Most High.”
Dan.7:22. At this time the righteous reign as kings
and priests unto God.” Great Controversy, p.661.

“And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and

judgment was given unto them. - - - and they lived
and reigned with Christ a thousand years.” Rev.20:4
“In union with Christ they judge the wicked,
comparing their acts with the statute book, the Bible,
and deciding every case according to the deeds done
in the body. Then the portion which the wicked must
suffer is meted out, according to their works; and it is
recorded against their names in the book of death.”
G.C. p.661.

“Know ye not that we (the saints) shall judge

angels?” 1 Cor.6:3.

“And the angels which kept not their first estate, but
left their own habitation, he hath reserved in
everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment
of the great day.” Jude 6.

The earth is in desolation for 1,000 years, and Satan

is bound to it.

Rev.20:1-3.

“At the close of the thousand years the second

resurrection will take place. Then the wicked will be
raised from the dead and appear before God for the
execution of “the judgment written.” (Rev.20:5) G.C.
P.661.

“They shall be gathered together, as prisoners are

gathered in the pt, and shall be shut up in the prison,
and after many days shall they be visited.” Isa.24:22.

The devil, along with all his angels, and “whosoever

was not found written in the book of life was cast into
the lake of fire.” “This is the second death.”
R
ev.20:15,14.

THE REWARD OF THE RIGHTEOUS.

“And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with
me, to give every man according as his work shall
be.” Rev.22:12.

“He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in

white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of
the book of life, but I will confess his name before my
Father, and before His angels.” Rev.3:5.

“He that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be
saved.” Matt.24:13.

Christ, our Great High Priest, ministers for us

before the throne of God.
