DANIEL CHAPTER 2.

Dan.1:1. - Nebuchadnezzar was king of Babylon.

Dan.2:1. - In the 2nd. Year of his reign, he had a

dream.
Read verses 2-30.
Dan.2:31. - “A great image, whose brightness
was excellent; - - - and
the form thereof was terrible.”
Dan.2:32-35. “This image’s head was of fine gold,
his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his
thighs of brass. His legs of iron, his feet part iron and
part of clay. Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out
without hands, which smote the image upon his feet
that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.
Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and
the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like
the chaff of the summer threshing floors; and the
wind carried them away, that no place was found for
them: and the stone that
smote the image became a great mountain, and filled
the whole earth.”

“Babylon, shattered and broken at last, passed away

because in prosperity its rulers had regarded
themselves as independent of God, and had ascribed
the glory of their kingdom to human achievement.
The Medo-Persian realm was visited by the wrath of
Heaven because in it God’s law had been trampled
underfoot. The fear of the Lord had found no place in
the hearts of the vast majority of the people.
Wickedness, blasphemy, and corruption prevailed.
The kingdoms that followed were even more base and
corrupt; and these sank lower and till lower in the
scale of moral worth.” Prophets & Kings, p.502.

“The whole image of a man represented the kingdom

of man; but the divisions of the image, the metallic
symbols represent the four great world-molding
empires which from Daniels time on would prevail on
the earth.” Ibid.p.495.

THE STONE.

A stone was cut out without hands, which smote the

image upon his feet… and filled the whole earth.
Dan.2:34,35,44,45. “The God of heaven shall set up a
kingdom!” Rev.11:15.

Isa.28:16. - “Behold, I lay in Zion a foundation a

stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, and sure
foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.”
Eph.2:20. - “--- Jesus Christ himself being the chief
corner stone.”
Acts.4:11 - “Which is become the head of the
corner.”
Gen.49:24. - “The shepherd – stone of Israel.”
Dan.4:3. - “His kingdom is an everlasting
kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to
generation.”
Luke 1:33. - “And he shall reign over the house of
Jacob forever; and of his kingdom there shall be no
end.”
Heb.1:8. - “But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne,
O God, is for eve and ever; a scepter of righteousness
is the sceptre of they kingdom.”
Rev.1:15. - “And the seventh angel sounded; and
there were great voices in heaven, saying, The
kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of
our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever
and ever.”
“Our kingdom is not of this world. We are waiting for
our Lord from heaven to come to earth to put down
all authority and power, and set up His everlasting
kingdom. Earthly powers are shaken. We need not,
and cannot, expect union among the nations of the
earth. Our position in the image of Nebuchadnezzar
is represented by the toes,, in a divided state, and of
a crushing material, that will not hold together.
Prophecy shows us that the great day of God is right
upon us. It hasteth greatly.” 1 Test. P.360,361.

“In the days of the last Kingdom, never to be

destroyed, never to be given to another people than
His own, who shall inhabit it forever. “And the dream
is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.”
Prophets & Kings, p.496.
